I mean not much we could have done given most the cream of the crop took massive deals to stay where they were at.  It is what it is...still some glimmer of hope we can pry Hendrickson from Bengals...but 2 major things working against us...Cincy surely prefers he not come here, and the massive deals have reset the market to a ridiculous level, so not sure Beane will part with the pick and get there on the contract if Bengals would even move him to us.

So lets see how they fill holes in FA, that way we can hopefully be aggressive in the draft to go try and land a couple key players.

My only beef in all this, is that DK could've been had for a reasonable price. Those that say he's not worth 30 million, are not familiar with the market. DK and Tee Higgins have a similar skill set. I would say Tee Higgins is better than DK in the short to Intermediate game, but both excel as vertical threats. Difference there. Is that DK is elite. 30M is right on par for a top 15WR. If he was in that 1st tier, we would be talking about a number closer to 40M, which is what most expect Jamar Chase to get. We still desperately like difference makers. Had we sent Seattle our 2nd. And sweetened the deal just a tad, we could've been left with our sole focus on the defense for the draft. I hope Beane has something big in the works. And that I'm eating crow tomorrow.

As infuriating as it is to see players I want going, I am having massive sticker shock compared to what Beane is locking up our pending FA for.

They're always someone when the dust settles who is productive but isn't on a team for a variety of reasons: cut to make room for another player, on the backside of their career even though they're productive or overplay their hand on the market and take a prove it deal.

I WANT the surer thing but if teams want to cap hell themselves in advance I really can't stop it.

I agree. But then I think back to Hyde and Poyer. We literally found two diamonds in the rough cap wise when we signed them originally. I hope we can do that with DE, DT, CB and Safety. Then draft well.

Apparently no one wants to play for a contender.

What’s the point. League will bend over backwards for the chiefs to make it through

Good player. But definitely not worth that on this team atleast. Panthers had to overpay big time

Beane is right to sit and wait.  Stupid money for good, but not great, players at best. Moehrig was damn good in his last two games and that turned out great for Philly. But he isn't worth what he is getting paid.

I would assume Beane wanted to stay away from DK as he can be a diva. Requesting a trade on the day Seattle was trying to recognize Lockett was a bad look.

Yeah he was very good in his role with Philly, but not a $26M player

To put things into perspective he had 5 sacks last year, 11 solo tackles and 13 assisted tackles

He has had 11.5 sacks in his career.

His 2 sacks against the Chiefs were his only post season sacks.

That man made a lot of money in that Super Bowl game.   If it hadn’t been for that game he wouldn’t have cracked $13M AAV

Sweat is about to have a massive overpay as well

We see this from time to time. A player balls out in the playoffs and Superbowl, gets paid huge then ... Nothing.
