SCBills Posted yesterday at 04:31 PM Author Posted yesterday at 04:31 PM I'm honestly at the point where I'd overpay for Josh Sweat to keep our draft ammo in tact. Sweat opposite Rousseau with a premium pick DT next to Oliver starts to resemble what the Eagles threw at KC. 8 3 Quote

I'm kind of meh on Sweat, but also I can't really pick anyone out in FA that I would feel great about. We opened up all this money and it happens to coincide with a particularly weak FA class. I'm still crossing my fingers for a trade for a difference maker. Hendrickson or some mystery player that hasn't been reported to be on the block. 3 Quote

jaybeezee Posted yesterday at 04:35 PM Posted yesterday at 04:35 PM (edited) I've said it before.... we are always gonna have to target 2nd tier FAs, or make a big trade with one of our 1st to get a prime player, and the reason is the cold temps. It's why we needed to build a domed stadium. I have family that lives in Miami. My brother works at a prominent Course in S. Florida and has spoken to many NFL players. He asks them all the time, come to Buffalo and play with Josh Allen. They all say the same thing.... naw, too cold. They state that it's not the city the detracts them, it's playing in the strong windy cold conditions of Orchard Park. It's why we needed a domed stadium. Players know that their careers get out a little short playing in those conditions. We may have the worst weather situation in the NFL. Greenbay is a close second, they get the cold, but no so much the snow amounts. Edited yesterday at 04:37 PM by jaybeezee 1 3 2 Quote

If he thinks he's anywhere near the ballpark of what Hendrickson will most likely get, let another team pay that. If it's closer to what Rousseau is getting, I'd be fine with that. Quote

I'm in! Take care of the franchise. He’s the most important player in this thread. He’s also getting married in May. Maybe this takes the uncomfortable prenup issue out of play since he’s pocketing $250m before the wedding. This is at least second hand, but I heard that his dad has been pretty direct with him regarding matters of this nature. So it wouldn’t surprise me if Josh wanted the extension as much as the Bills wanted to lock him up. Quote

Kinda feels like a guy who could be their big splash. Joe Marino talked about it a ton, but he is a perfect fit. CB - Eric Stokes. They had a bunch of interest in 2021 pre-draft. 4.29 40 with upside despite numerous injuries. DE - Payton Turner. Former Ryan Nielsen prodigee who has not put it together. But maybe interesting super buy low. Safety - Ifeatu Melifonwu. Another guy they liked pre-draft. He has some interesting traits and is a former corner. There is some Micah Hyde there, slower corner who moved to safety, plays some nickel and has made an impact at times. Offense: WR Josh Palmer...a ton of Joe Marino stuff on how well he fits. I'd be down with it. That's all I got Turner is a little interesting, but seems to have done little to nothing in 4 seasons. If he would sign very inexpensively, he might be a decent backup edge. After 4 years, I would not count on a big breakout season from him. For comparison, AJ Epenesa was drafted a full round later (1 years earlier) and, though Epenesa is much maligned here as a poor draft pick by Beane, he has far outperformed Turner. stlbills13 Posted yesterday at 04:38 PM Posted yesterday at 04:38 PM I think they're going to run last year's team back with a few 2nd tier free agents and probably be aggressive in the draft specifically on defense. Quote
