Hendrickson or DK.  Make offers, hopefully they aren't playing the same game.

Hendrickson I think has to go, doubt Cinci is gonna pay up.  Seattle is resetting, DK makes sense to be traded.

Hendrickson will go to Commanders and DK will go to Chargers. Hope I’m wrong and we get one

This is why trading for a guy is so hard and then playing him. The cost both from a trade standpoint and contract.

Hendrickson will at least cost less in terms of draft capital but Hendrickson is going to want 25 mill + on his new deal

I’d take the $125 mil and run!!!

Every kid with a chance at the pros thinks money first.

Then when they get the money, they think more money.

Bigger worry for us should be DK doesn’t want to play in the cold because of his asthma and Hendrickson now costs 30M per year, at minimum, on extension with Garrett and Crosby’s deals.   He won’t get paid like them, but like Saquon’s deal and Cook, they will be referenced.

Browns had to overpay. Just like with the Raiders, spending absurd amounts of money on a pass rusher when the team has no QB is not the way to build a winner. Remember when the Bills had Mario Williams and a DL with a cool nickname (The Cold Front)? That led to a 6-10 and 9-7 records and no playoffs. But fans got to buy Mario Williams jerseys, so all was good.

The Browns said they would not trade him.  So for anyone now that will blame Beane for not getting him, with all respect just shut it.

These things take on a life of their own in these boards.

Never saw Hendrickson as an option for us.  Don't think Cincy would even consider trading him to Buffalo unless we massively overpaid in draft capital.

If the rumor is true and DK wants to play in warm weather, we're out of that one too.

Harold Landry can be had without giving up any draft picks. I fully expect Hendrickson to re-sign with the Bengals also.

the Bengals are likely to deal him IMO

unless they trade Chase for multiple 1sts

Here's the thing.  I totally get why Garrett would sign this deal.  It's huge money....generational wealth.  And what does he have to sacrifice to get it?  Knowing he will never win a Super Bowl in his career.  Heck.....he probably won't see the Playoffs for the rest of his career.  But, $120+ million guaranteed or a shot at a ring?  That's his choice and we could all dream of being in a position to make that decision for ourselves.  The thing is, he was going to get paid by the team that traded for him anyway.  Maybe not quite this contract, but close enough.  But, whatever.....I get why he would sign that deal.

On the other hand, what are the Browns doing as an organization?  They are in serious trouble and I am not sure I see a way out of it for them for at least another 5+ years.  They sign these ridiculous deals with all guaranteed money and they are absolutely stuck.  They continue to take the worst contract in NFL history and make it worse by kicking more money down the road only to sign more guys to huge contracts that, in the end, won't mean a thing because they are absolutely nowhere at the most important position in sports, the QB.  They should have absolutely be champing at the bit to get a haul for Garrett, clear out some real cap space, and get some futures that will help them move around in the draft this year and next year to find their QB of the future and get younger and some more skilled guys to be ready for when that rookie comes in to try and set him up for success.  Instead, they basically tie their own arms behind their backs.  Just a moronic organization that has no clue what they are doing and they are just out of touch with reality.

It's hard to make a reasonable offer when the other side insists is unreasonable. If the Browns had any sense at all they'd be taking their cap lumps ASAP and selling off assets because of the millstone that is the Watson deal.

Who else do we have?

The amount of money they have tied up in the next couple years just between Watson and Garrett is insane.

Well, I guess the only bright side is this means the NFL is not going the way of the NBA … at least not yet.

Apparently, the threat/use of the franchise tag still carries a substantial amount of weight.  After listening to a lot of Garrett’s interviews, I think his trade request to a contender was sincere but I think he finally realized the harsh reality, he’d likely be in the same situation as Reddick last year.

And, it seems like the perceived stigma of a team using the tag must not be so great because the current opinion is that Tee Higgins will likely resign with Cincy even after being tagged not once but twice and other teams have tagged players only to resign them later and I don’t recall any situations where tagging a player led to the team being a pariah for FAs.

I don’t think so on Hendrickson but I agree he’d be very expensive with the extension. I do agree that Harold Landry would be more cost effective and would upgrade what we have at a more cost effective number between 10-12 mill

I thought that Myles Garrett wanted to win a Super Bowl and go to the hall of fame?

Why can’t we have more people in the world like Josh Allen? Who just mean what they say
