I think Garrett wanted to be traded and it isn't about the money, but more about the browns telling him we aren't teasing you so either play on your current contact, sit out and don't get to advance an a year, or become the highest paid non-qb in the league. Which he just is making best of a bad situation. 

Really, it's dumb of Cleveland to do this. They needed a hard reset and he would have gotten them a lot of assets to help rebuild.

No they can’t. They aren’t and weren’t going to be able to allocate 35%-40% of the cap to the DL. That’s certainly true with Josh Allen. They can afford 1 more guy, maybe, in the Rousseau/Oliver range. They aren’t in the Garrett and Hendrickson range.

It's not about what you can or can't do with said amounts of money. Show me a billionaire that's content with what they have.  

 

$33M is a significant amount of money, and mutiple Super Bowl rings aren't guaranteed no matter where he may have landed.

There are 31 other teams chasing elite talent like Garrett. And most of them have more money to throw at it.

 

It's a bit arrogant or delusional to think that the Bills are always in the Top-5 to sign someone.
