He was having a good year until that happened. 8 sacks in 11 games. Was due for 11 or 12 sacks on that pace. Playoffs is why we got him anyways.

I think beane himself would’ve said in private the day of the injury that he put chips on the table and lost the hand on this one.

This was always going to be the case since the day we signed him.  It was always essentially a 3 year deal, and hats off to Von who took a pay cut instead of having to do a restructure last year that made this move still possible.

 

I think there is a better than 50% chance he resigns here for less as a situational player.  He wants a 3rd ring with a 3rd team and wants to be here and I think the FO is open to him coming back on a deal more representative of his role.  Low cost vet depth.

If you look at the void years on the Eagles' big contracts, you can almost plan Howie Roseman's retirement party.

Cleveland is pretty crazy too.  Tripling down with the Garrett signing is pretty wild.

 

I'm not sure yet, but I'm getting a feeling that because Beane, McDermott and Josh are all tied together at the hip that a cap push is coming.

I want to see the contract structures and what they get done in FA.

This is a good year for Beane to sign FA players.  He is not getting anything in comp picks with the outgoing FA group.

I said Miller wouldn’t get 20 sacks in his Bills career, and he couldn’t even reach 15. 
 

Bills Twitter was convinced the signing was great, all the content creators applauded…but guy was injury prone and 33, it was foolish.

 

Oh, Von is also a POS human, btw. Google his revenge porn lawsuit that no one talks about.

Is this the year that there is a lot of worthwhile FA talent to sign and make a cap push?  The free agents available are generally not difference makers.  Trades are always a possibility, but I think the free agent pool, particularly in the areas that we have the greatest need, is weak.

Sad it didn't work out. He seemed like a great signing until the injury in Detroit. The Bills could have won the Super Bowl that year if that hadn't happened.

 

I wouldn't be against him returning on a team friendly deal.

I think this is the Bills doing the HoF vet a favor and releasing him early to see if he can get more money somewhere else. And then if not, come on back at $5M.

Von Miller just reported on the Bees and Wax podcast that he's working really hard for the Bills on recruiting Von Miller.  So, I'm guessing there's no shot whatsoever now.
