I can see this is the Bills telling Von to test the open market after Miller wouldn't take a cut.

It was worth the gamble when they signed him. He was playing well before the injury. He played well last year also. He’s just more of a situational pass rusher now. I’d be open to him in that role at the right price.

They got the exact amount of time out of Von that I expected when they signed the contract. Unfortunately, they didn’t get the exact amount of player that I had hoped for. The injury and father time were a lot to overcome.

I think it’s more of let’s save some money, try to do what we want at DE be that whatever it is and if they can’t achieve that they’ll pivot back to him.

Remember flying out to LA and seeing him dominate opening night.  70% of the stadium were Bills fans and we were all convinced we were winning it all with him.

 

Then he got hurt and could never get back to form. 
 

Sad it played out this way, and it seemed like a restructured deal was going to be worked out, but at the end of the day… this is probably for the best.

That injury was devastating…the dude was carrying the whole dline his first few games he got here and they fell off a cliff when he was out.  He had a pretty good year last year but wasn’t worth the contract even after restructuring it
