But his contract will kick in for 2026 and that's where it will get a bit expensive It won‘t He will end up being less than 3.5% of the entire cap in 2026 and around 4% in 2027, assuming the Bills use the 1 voided year which seems to be their recent M.O Quote

And he did this playing either on his less favorable side or opposite Epenesa, one of the weaker starting ends in the league. 1 Quote

Hopefully. So far the examples we have are Knox who turned out to be a massive overpay, Oliver who I would say we about broke even on and are still hoping for more, and Brown who looks like a great bargain. So we are 1 for 3 in this sort of move ending up as you say. Quote

No one showed up on defense Va the Chiefs specially the DB’s and coaching schemes Here's my question for you and anyone else who loves this extension - if Rousseau remains exactly the player he has been, do you think he is worth this money? For me the answer is a hard no. I would guess the Bills feel similarly. They are betting that he is going to improve. For all the advanced stats that rank him higher than his production would indicate, he has maxed out at 8 sacks. Even with the exploding salary cap I don't believe 8 sack players are worth $20M AAV. I would have let him play out his 5th. I would’ve had no issues if he walked and somehow did great for another team. I don’t see how he is currently worth 20 mil per. Anything over 15 per is a problem for me with Groot. Would have much rather seen Benford get his deal, work FA and the draft, then circle back to Groot Exactly how I feel. Groot gives T Edmund vibes. Ohh...he's young, he's going to bring out this year, and that year never comes. Now at an inflated salary. For those that say he could've gotten just as much, or even more on the open market. I don't dispute this, but dumb teams overpay all the time. 1 1 Quote

Based off last years production this contract which in all intents and purposes is up to $18.6m AAV over the next 5 years matches up. I posted the advanced stats multiple times, you can find them in this thread. Through objective lens it’s a good deal. The beauty is that he is ascending, that’s not in dispute. I would assume he hasn’t hit his ceiling yet unless last year was the peak and I don’t see any evidence to suggest that. 2 Quote
Juice_32 Posted Saturday at 05:52 PM Posted Saturday at 05:52 PM This is a steal even if his current production holds. AND I still don't think he's hit his ceiling. 2 Quote

Let’s say that you sign Trey Hendrickson. He’s likely going to want a new 3-4 year deal before being traded. If you’re Buffalo will you allocate $40M+ on your two DE’s? Probably not. They’ll still add at EGDE I just don’t think it will be an impact player like we all had been hoping for. Quote
