That's good to have 3 sacks in a game.  It's very good.  I was really happy that game.

How’d you feel the other 16 when he had 5? Chris Kelsay production right there.

With 3 of those coming in 1 game. So he had 5 paltry sacks in the other 16.

So you pretty much just dismissed 8 sacks.

5 paltry sacks? Jesus.

No, it isn't an overpay. In fact, he could probably get more from another team. But I'm frustrated with our defensive line and want some changes. Rousseau is not an elite pass rusher. He would be great if we had an elite guy opposite him. Let's hope we get that done somehow.

Sure and I completely understand that side of the argument. I'm the same way we need more elite playmakers but this type of contract doesn't stop the Bills from accomplishing that task if they truly wanted to go down that road of trading for one of the guys that has been discussed here.

Since I prefer football to math, I felt like he was dominating most of his assignments and creating legitimate issues for opposing offenses.

IDK how I feel about this. As a lot of posters alluded, he disappears for stretches. I feel like the money could’ve been better invested to a high level FA or trade. We are not a rebuilding team. The Bills are literally 2 blue chip players away from dethroning KC.

Maybe Beane knows something we don’t? Maybe he realizes Garrett/Crosby/Metcalf will be unattainable? The positives are he is a homegrown player that can rack up 8-10 sacks along w/ being force against the run.

Going into year 5 does he have the chance to get better? I’ll give the Tremaine Edmunds argument that he is still only 24. We shall see. Trust the process !

His production is not worth 20

million dollars. Go buy your Rousseau jersey and cheer when he disappears for long stretches.

I don't think so.  I'm guessing Rousseau's cap hit went down for 2025, and probably backloaded a bit.

Beane knows he has to improve the dline.

I was just telling my friend I think this actually helps the case for a garret or Hendrickson. This gives beane free reign to do what he wants with groots money, and he's only 24 that tells me beane probably has no fear kicking the money down the road opening up things now.

Well, we did make out it to the AFC championship game, so overall, pretty happy with the season.

Improve our safeties,  get Milano for a full season,  add more to the dline... can't wait to see Rousseau next season.

But who would take his place? That's important.

I can’t say for certain we couldn’t match his production with a high draft choice.  Is it a gamble, always.  But it’s 15 mil cheaper and we know what we have with Groot.

I know I’m a broken record, but we need something different on defense.  We need a game wrecker.  Groot isn’t it.  I’d rather put that money towards a proven guy and draft for depth.

Kelsay should’ve pulled a Myles Garrett and knocked out the opposing QB with his lunch pail.

Benford

Allen

Cook

They will all get done!

I'm not holding my breath on a Cook extension.

This team is not going to give a RB anywhere near what I'm guessing Cook is looking for.

Sure was! Especially when KC scored more than 30 points for their first time all season when it mattered the most.

I still think Beane is totally in on Garret and Hendrickson.

Just because you don't understand what you're watching doesn't mean he's disappeared.

I’m sure you are a football genius. Keep screaming Groot as we choke in the playoffs every year.

Beane again handing out overpays and we will forever be over the cap year after year.  Team cannot get improve talent through free agency because Beeane never has money to spend and his drafting has not been great .

Spotrac estimated him at $25M.

This isn't an overpay.

It's a risk. They all are, but this is maybe a bit more than most.

My guess is that if they put a few more dangerous guys on the other end at DE and in the middle, Rousseau suddenly "improves."

This doesn't stop us from making a splash. Probably helps actually as it lowers the cap this year.

I agree if we go into next year with Greg and Preston Smith as starters I'm going to be pissed. But let's see what they do.

I don't love the deal but trying to stay optimistic. FA hasn't even started yet.
