WAY less expensive than what I was expecting! I thought $25M/yr at least.

Beane back in his bag. Groot is going to flourish with a legit DE and 1-Tech alongside him, paired with Oliver.

The future of this D-Line is bright. Give me 2 more pieces.

We know that’s all Beane cares about.

Said it in the Bernard extension thread. Pressure to not backslide this season. But moves like this also limit the team’s ability to improve.

Rousseau is going to be 25 in April and was one year away from being a potential free agent.  Assuming he was injury free and showed continued improvement, he would have cost a lot more next season to re-sign and would have gotten much more in free agency with the projected cap increases.

I don't think so.  I'm guessing Rousseau's cap hit went down for 2025, and probably backloaded a bit.

Beane knows he has to improve the dline.

He is going to be less than 2% of the cap in 2025, less than 3.5% in 2026 and around 4% in 2027

Book it!

20M per year for Rousseau is on the low end of what many thought he’d get.

He's not a Batman, but he and Oliver could be two big time Robin’s on an improved DL.

Just love $20M/year for Robins
