Yup.

Both him and Edwards do just feel older for whatever reason.

I was surprised to learn how young Edwards was as well. Thought he was at least 32 when he came to Buffalo. I guess I chalk that up to having won a Super Bowl for some reason.

I know there is hope from fans about Sedrick Van Pran but I don't think we as fans really know how he is progressing.  If the Bills aren't sure that Sedrick could be the long-term answer then they absolutely should extend McGovern.  It would be nice to get those cap savings by extending him but they may want to play it out another year to see if Sedrick could be the guy.

I would wait a year before extending McGovern …

Let’s see what happens with Van Pran in 2025 … he was a good prospect coming out last year … didn’t get a lot of opportunities which might have been more about the play and availability of those in front on him, rather than anything he did wrong

McGovern has played well, but I don’t know if you can pay every starter on the team when you are paying the QB as well… they are going to need a few more rookies in starting positions….

It’s a good point, if Sedrick could become the answer he would represent larger cap savings 2026 and beyond

Wrong Connor McGovern. The shlep that played for the Jets is almost 32. Our guy just turned 27. Easy mistake to make, they are very confusing. Same name, same position.

It's like a several years ago when there were two WRs named Mike Williams in the NFL between 2010 and 2011:

  • Mike Williams, WR, 2005-2011, Lions, Raiders, Seahawks, Titans
  • Mike Williams, WR, 2010-2014, Bills, Buccaneers

Oh gosh. It's so funny they both have the same name and same position. I forgot there was another one.

I can’t seem to find anything on it now but I thought it was reported that McGovern finished the season playing through a difficult shoulder injury - did I imagine that?

He fell on it in the Ravens game.  Played in the KC game.  I haven't heard anything else.

Nope. They already drafted his replacement.

I don't even think svgp will get first crack at center if it opens up

Alec Anderson would , he's been groomed everywhere

The UDFA RT who we signed to only a 1-year deal?

He was our sixth lineman last year plays aggressive and well

Been in the system for years.. is longer and getting better

I wouldn't doubt if he's fighting for a starting guard position and is in line to get paid a decent contract

Played 25% of the snaps last year I think he can push Edwards

I’m glad we have Kromer to give his input on this decision.

I’m surprised he’s only one inch taller than McGovern. I thought he might be too tall to be ideal. I guess he’s upright a lot more out there.  🤷‍♂️

With them and Spencer out here, we could lead the league in rebounding!

He has every trait you look for in a good NFL center

He's long, athletic, been groomed along the offensive line for years.. so he wasn't thrown to the fire and got to grow his technique with his athleticism

And he is nasty nasty nasty.. like he buries defensive lineman and plays through the whistle

It was a pleasant luxury to be able to trot him out there so much last year.

Now, let’s make the DL just like the OL.

Interesting take. It'll be fun watching it all play out. I think the Bills are in a good spot right now at OL.

(Does SVPG become the next Teller as we send him the Cleveland to sweeten the deal for Garrett? 🙃 )

We are in the best spot along the offensive line we have been in a long long time

There's a reason we let the NFL in six offensive lineman packages last year by a wide margin

Our team came to the conclusion.. and Anderson's tape shows... That he was an asset on the field last year so they tried to get him on

That gives me a confusing complex of emotions. I have PTSD on the Teller topic, but Garrett sure sounds sweet!

Garrett tears and ACL and SVPG goes to a Pro Bowl, and there will be absolutely no mercy from some here.  😂

Until the AFCCG when he apparently just forgot to keep reporting in. Even though he had been doing it all year they would have you believe that he just up and forgot at the most important time. Sure he did. Sure he did.
