Pick 56 would be fine, but that’s too early in my unqualified opinion. I would have to have thought hard about Walter Nolan as long as speculation about character issues checked out ok. If Nolan’s character was a concern, I’d partake Nick Scourton there. I saw somewhere that Alexander will turn 25 in August, I don’t think that fits in with the bills history of first round picks - leaning into youth and potential. Quote
H2o Posted Friday at 10:41 PM Posted Friday at 10:41 PM Alexander isn't a 1st Round pick imo, and I also don't see him as what this defense needs. I'd be pissed. 2 Quote
frostbitmic Posted Friday at 11:23 PM Posted Friday at 11:23 PM 30. Alfred Collins - DT - Texas ... 6'6" 330 LB DT. Just what the Dr ordered. 59. JT Tuimoloau - EDGE - Ohio St ... We need a pass rusher too... 4.62 forty. 62. Azareye'h Thomas - CB - Florida St ... Need to replace Douglas. These players were picked later in their draft than where the Bills pick. 1 Quote

Grant/ Harmon,,,,Collins and kid from BC? I kinda hope we concentrate FA money to the back end. LOTS of good FA corners and safeties. Quote

Might go Wr and Edge later if JT is more of an edge setter than sack guy. Quote
BigAl2526 Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Darius Alexander has some nice upside. My biggest problem with picking him at #30 is he looks to be more of a 3 tech than a 1 tech. Yes, Buffalo could use a 3 tech in rotation with Ed Oliver, especially if Dewayne Carter doesn't pan out, but Buffalo is really in need of a new starting caliber 1 tech. DaQuan Jones looks like his age is catching up to him. He needs to be a rotational player at this point, but not a starter. The problem is the only 1 tech DTs likely to be drafted in round one, Kenneth Grant and Walter Nolen may not drop to #30. Even if he does drop, I worry that Nolen might be undersized since he is only around 300 lbs. Will he get pushed around in the pros. Buffalo can attempt a modest trade up if Grant is still around in the mid 20s, or they could stay put and take their chances on Grant dropping. If he doesn't there are some other players who could drop and give Buffalo decent value at a position of need: CB, S, DE or WR. Buffalo could also trade out of round 1 and look for Deone Walker or Alfred Collins in the top half of round 2. Tyliek Williams from Ohio State is really intriguing. He runs like a 260 lb defensive end while tipping the scale at 334 lbs. His skill set suggests he's more of a 3 tech, but maybe the Bills think he could be used as a 1 tech. Ayomanor seems like a good value in Round 2. He doesn't have Michael Golden or Xavier Worthy speed, but with a 4.4 40, if he gets behind the secondary, there aren't many DBs who will catch him. He combines that with good size and a nice skill set. Likewise, Thomas is a quality pick at #62. He's not a burner, but is fast enough to play in the Bills' zone defense and sprinkle in some man coverage too. In this mock, Benjamin Morrison is still available when Buffalo selects Thomas. If Buffalo picked Morrison instead, they'd be giving up some size for quite a bit more speed. Quote
Maine-iac Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Amos as the Bill's first pick then Collins. Amos is my favorite CB for our defense and I like Collins as a more finished DT and/or if he was gone Jordan Phillips later in the draft. Hell I'd go Amos then Mukuba and then Phillips and still sign DJ Jones and/or Jonathan Allen if I had my way. Quote
