If Beane doesn’t acquire Garrett or Metcalf, are you “so &*!%$ing done with this team?”

  1. 1. If Beane doesn’t acquire Garrett or Metcalf, are you “so &*!%$ing done with this team?”

    • Hell yes, Beane doesn’t understand what it takes to get over the hump

    • Hell no, Beane has a plan and won’t mortgage the future for a splash player

    • Still supportive but disappointed, because I feel like they need one more proven “difference-maker” and can’t just rely on the draft

The question speaks for itself.  Discuss.

The answer is obvious. Nobody should be angry about not making a specific move without knowing what it would cost to make that move. Or if it would even be possible.

And we don't know.

Just as a for instance, say some NFC idiot gives three #1s for Garrett. You gonna be angry the Bills didn't pay more to keep him in the AFC? It's ridiculous. Or say the Browns so something Brownsy and decide they simply aren't letting him go.

After the moves are all made, and the info is in on whether teams were actually willing to do that move, and/or how much it cost, opinions make much more sense.

As for my hopes, I hope we get Garrett, if the cost is reasonable. Or another of the pass rushers available, like Hendrickson (but not the worn-down Bosa). As for Metcalf, I think he'll cost too much under nearly any situation.

No. I went thru years of torture at the hands of weenies like Russ Brandon, Buddy Nix, and Tom Donahoe. I think Beane has built solid rosters year in and year out.

And it's not like they haven't taken big swings to try and get that one "difference maker" to play here. That's what Diggs was, and that's what Miller was as well. In years when the prospect pool doesn't seem that great I'm all for them going with the Rams method and trading picks for proven players. Beane has drafted pretty well given his position each year and they've done well in re-signing their own picks.

It'd be cool if he gets some kind of big deal done but if not it won't bum me out either way.

I would Garrett, but his cost is part of equations therefore if it takes a bunch of first rounders then I am happy not to have him. As for Metcalf I don't want him if he is going to demand 30 million, he is not going to improve our offense like Garrett will change our defense

I don’t care what anyone says, we aren’t one big splash signing away. We’re in need of a more solid overall roster, especially on defense. That’s only accomplished through the draft.

Here is an easier poll:

If the Bills fire Rex Ryan after 2 seasons and hire an unknown Sean McDermott will @eball be so done with this team that he will quit his 27 year season tickets in frustration because of it?

I will say this much... To me... It looks like bare minimum Cleveland is going to drag this Garrett thing out till after the Draft... The local Cleveland reporters have been saying it will be post June 1st, if it happens at all, all along. It just seems like they are not going to budge and force the holdout drama stuff...

So...If the Bills go DE/Edge in the 1st, or probably even with one of their 2nd Rd. picks, I think they're out on Garrett. Because bringing Garrett in would immediately make that pick a 20-30% of the downs at best player for the next 3 years with Groot and Garrett. it's just poor roster building, especially with all the other needs on Defense. I fully realize Garrett is the best option. I'm just saying I would not take a DE high if I think I'm going all out for Garrett. But that is a dangerous game...

So if in fact we get to Draft night and Garrett has not been dealt, and the Bills Draft say...Landon Jackson at 30... That's it for the Garrett trade IMHO... B-)

Disappointed a little, but nothing is doom and gloom.

Garrett seemingly pulled the wool over everyone's eyes. All he wanted was the largest non-QB paycheck ever. Enjoy losing.

With DK, the Steelers gave up a 2nd, a HUGE contract, and they still don't have a long term answer at QB. Would like to have gotten him, but oh well.

We'll see how the rest of this plays out.

Beane will make excuses as to why we didn't get them, but you will see an elite team add them for like a 3rd, 4th or 5th round pick.

Neither went to an elite team, and the teams that got them paid through the nose.

No excuses necessary.
