Brianmoorman4jesus Posted March 7 Posted March 7 I hope von comes back at a workable number. I think he’s been good for the team and he’s an all time great. Make the money right and let him get a ring with us 1 1 1 Quote
khlax3 Posted March 7 Posted March 7 If this gets done it also opens up the possibility of cutting or trading epenesa and saving 3.5 million. you could potentially include epenesa in a package for Hendrickson. Hendrickson for 2nd, 4th, and epenesa 2025 Defensive Ends: (Hendrickson, Groot, von, 2nd rounder, Solomon) looks pretty solid to me 1 1 Quote

Mark Vader Posted March 7 Posted March 7 Miller taking a pay cut, again, would be great for us. I don't see him as a negative on this team. 5 6 1 Quote

I can see the point. This would be the reason I would get rid of him. I don't see him as a "cancer" or a problem in the locker room. I don't think he's the most upstanding human being, but I also think for the organization he seems to be well liked and he is trying to make a deal to stay. I think you reward that, especially given the Cook situation where he may hold out for more money. Also understand that as the season goes on... perhaps Miller's snap count goes down and you start plugging in younger talent. Quote

But if I were the Bengals I wouldn't do it. Of course, the Bengals do stuff that seems to hurt them all the time. So, who knows. 1 Quote

We can have him play this year for no additional cap hit with a big performance slider that we probably pay under 10M net. He was absolutely good enough to be a strong rotational pass rusher with upside. I have no problem with him being here as long as the comp matches performance. The problem was that he disappeared in the game against the Chiefs. 2 1 Quote
Mikie2times Posted March 7 Posted March 7 (edited) I posted in the other thread I thought this might happen. I don’t think Von wants to switch teams at this stage in his career. He wants one more Super Bowl. I think he knows he can do a lot for his legacy, especially in WNY, with a championship. Not to mention, guys going to be fully healed. Obviously he’s going to lose impact at his age but he could flash more than in 24, especially with low reps in high leverage moments. Maybe we see a bit more of that bend. Players like him and he seems to be a good talent recruiter / well connected. He also seems to mentor our younger pass rushers which is very valuable. If we can make the numbers work we would be dumb not to do it. Edited March 7 by Mikie2times 1 Quote
DJB Posted March 7 Posted March 7 (edited) If he takes a pay cut and becomes our #3 DE because we’ve upgraded I’d be real happy with that Edited March 7 by DJB 3 Quote

I can see the point. As long as he's strictly a rotational guy. And depending on his performance, low rotation. The big thing would be saving more $$$ by having him on the team. If he looks completely washed, let him ride the pine and play the player/coach role. 1 Quote
Spiderweb Posted March 7 Posted March 7 (edited) After his performance in the loss against KC to end our season, I truly hoped he had just played his last game for the Bills. Once he made his initial rush, he quit afterward on so many plays it was sickening. Once a great player, now a mere shadow of his former self. Edited March 7 by Spiderweb Quote
The Firebaugh Kid Posted March 7 Posted March 7 Dude can still get home. Take a massive pay cut and stay or go somewhere else thank you so much. Quote
nosejob Posted March 7 Posted March 7 It's a no for me. 3rd down is the most important down in pass rush and getting off the field. Him taking up those snaps to put up 8 sacks maybe, over the season? I'd rather roll with Groot , Reddick, Solomon and Princely. Also draft a big strong end later in the draft. Fix the interior 1st. Quote
Yard Monkey Posted March 7 Posted March 7 https://apple.news/AmDbEglGHRPu6Zrih38Qpbw Pure speculation from Bleacher Report but I suppose it could be possible. I suppose Von COULD also take a trip to the moon next month. Quote

For as much abuse as Epenesa gets as a player here, he is better and cheaper than Miller at this stage of his career. 1 1 Quote
