Without even reading between the lines it seems clear the Bengals have assessed the chances of Hendrickson playing a full season in 25 to be dubious while Hendrickson accepts that he is likely to be medically scrubbed at some point soon but he #1 wants to play and #2 agrees with the Bengals that moving on with some draft capital for the team he feels loyal to is the best thing for the team. This warning lights should be bright for any team considering giving him a new contract.

17.5 sacks is ELITE regardless.  Any time the Bengals play KC, this guy seems to pressure Mahomes constantly

Of course. I always like to see how many of a player's stats came in garbage time when they shouldn't have been playing. Trey got a strip sack of Ridder in the 4th when the Bengals were winning 38-17. The Bills starters wouldn't have been on the field. There are a lot of examples of that type of thing that skew stats. I'm sure that people who do this for a living keep track of that.

Or they know that they can't pay him, Chase, and Tee Higgins. And the organization's primary task for the past two years has been to keep Joe Burrow happy to avoid a Carson Palmer situation, so Hendrickson has to go while they can get something. FWIW, Hendrickson played all 17 games this past season.

It looks like his long term ongoing neck problems kept him from finishing two games, with one episode resulting in a game stoppage and him immobile for a few minutes before he was taken off the field.

Yup. Only big name player I want beane to swing for. Cincy won’t trade with us. Unless we out bid someone quite a bit

actually they are looking for an early 3rd or late 2nd

Well, that may change things.

I actually value guys like Hendrickson more than TJ Watt because he lines up against LTs.

if Trey did a TJ Watt, he'd have 25 sacks on the year.

I don’t normally say this out loud but this feels like a safe place.

I want this guy so bad

I think Cincy would trade him to us, but we would have to overpay.

I'm guessing if the price is a 2nd then multiple teams will be in on him. These leads me to believe buff may need to give up a 1st.

Now we have Garrett, Hendrickson and DK available

Beane HAS to bring in one of these guys or we can likely just expect the same .

We need an elite difference maker

If not, Sweat in free agency would be pretty good. He is a difference maker.

That's an amazing stat. I would love to have him.

Where are Bills on the cap ? Last i heard they were still way over.

Do we even have the money to make this deal ?

Expand

The Bills can free up 40 million in cap space pretty easily with some extensions and restructures and a couple of cuts.

We need this guy. If no Garrett, then this guy. He's a game wrecker. Give them our first and a third. He is top 5 in NFL. And he is a Bill style player. Blue collar, tough.

There are too many teams "close" to the top now: Detroit, Washington, Texans, KC, Balt, Denver, GB..... to name a few. They will all be in on him. We NEED to keep him away from all of them.

I guarantee Beane has looked into Hendrickson, especially given the reported interest in Myles.  I say that because he would be just as good a get as Myles, but would be cheaper to acquire and a more absorbable cap hit upon extension.

But, it’s a big question mark whether or not Bengals would send him to an AFC contender though.  So not sure how “gettable” he is for us specifically.

My thought is make sure we make the best offer and put Cincy in position to have to decide on taking a lesser offer or our best offer.
