Crosby was my number one preferred elite EDGE target (IF he had been available), even over Garrett. Mostly because of how uncomfortable he makes Mahomes on the field (very pleasing to watch Kermit repeatedly whine between plays about minor contact, essentially taking the bait). And he's relatively young. 

 

Turns out he wasn't ever really an option, alas.

Has he said he’s chasing a ring?  He’s doing a job, most people take the job closest to where they are comfortable and get paid the most they can for those circumstances.  It’s no different for these guys and they certainly don’t care fans think, forget about what a fan of another team thinks.   I’m sure he’d like to win and ideally he’d like to do it where he wants to be.  It wasn’t long ago we praised guys for loyalty and were salty about them chasing money, now a guy stays with his team and gets market value and people say he’s chasing something, make it make sense.

exactly.  This is a move the drought era-Bills would have done.  The best DE does nothing for you until you have a QB.  Trade him, get picks (draft a good but likely not elite DE this year), take a QB next year.
