Jags release Christian Kirk, seems like a Billsy move

Kirk seems to be tight with Josh and was just hanging out with him again recently. I don’t think we give him as much of a deal as the Jags did, but might be a nice option.

He is a  close friend with Josh Allen. I can see this happen.

He is good friends with Allen so I could see this being a real possibility. The one thing that gives me pause is he was in the slot 76% of snaps last year. But he has played outside before so if we bring him as our Z receiver I think that could work.

This is the sort of moneyball approach that I'm in favor of.  He probably could be signed to around $10M AAV which means he would barely eat up any cap space over the next few years.   Him, Josh Palmer or Hollywood brown to me makes a lot of sense.   Still draft a WR with a premium pick!

 

Then spend a boat load on defense!

And probably a little bit of samuel.  Considering both samuel and kirks injury history though it's tough and there are 0 savings moving on from samuel - you simply do it if you view kirk as an upgrade in a vertical slot type role.

He’s a downfield threat. I don’t get so caught up with the boundary/ slot thing. Just find good players. The Bills can do a lot worse than Kirk

This is the correct way to view things!

We have to stop collecting mid WR and go get a legit outside guy. 
 

Kirk is primarily a slot guy

They are golf buddies and vacation together.   Was very surprised when he wasnt signed here.

Apparently he was photographed with Allen at his bachelor party?! maybe that’s the pic. I don’t know,,, but why wasn’t i invited either.

Didn't he supposedy tell Allen that he has only lived in hot weather and didn't want to move anywhere cold, or am I thinking of someone else?

I'm fine getting him.  He's a good player.  But we still need that defense-scaring WR1.  I think that could be Slayton and K. Allen combo.

He has been REALLLY good at times in his career, I don’t know where he’s at now, but I wanted him when he went to sign with the swamp cats.

So that leaves a WR group of  Coleman, Shakir, Samuel, Kirk, Palmer/Brown, and high draft pick rookie.  Considering for the past few years the Bills have only carried 5 WR, means one of the above is being cut or traded.  Based on the names above Samuel would likely be that guy, but it's a big cap hit to do that.  Add to that they also have Kinkaid and Knox, and only one ball to go around. 

 

This would be a great lineup for fantasy football, but in the NFL actually have to think about what your roster will look like

I don't know about Hollywood Brown.  I feel like he'd get injured getting hit by a feather.
