Vet minimum…

I don't know everyone assumes these guys are going to put their body on the line for a minimum contract. Football is a violent game and Slay has made more than enough money to walk away without beating up his body more

A little leary about bringing in a guy at the end of his career that just won a ring.

Looking for one more payday and you have no idea where his motivation is.

If he’s willing to go to back to Detroit (also it was Amon-ra podcast so he could have just been saying it for that reason) or Phil only he’s looking for more than just money. Feel like Buffalo would be an option.

Those career best stats are interesting

maybe just a coincidence it was with revamped Eagles secondary (added Mitchell and DeJean) and behind that D Line. Nowhere near that talent level in BUF right now.

Interesting perspective!! That hadn’t crossed my mind but now give me pause

Yeah, Von Miller really spoiled my whole desire to sign championship veterans.

This guy doesn't give the same vibe but i just don't know he would have the hunger.

Honestly, it’s one of the most appealing aspects about Myles Garrett. I’m not sure if people fully comprehend how good he is. If you injected, a hungry Myles Garrett into the Bills, it isn’t crazy to think that he would be the best player in the NFL. He’s the best defensive player now and he’s playing with, and for, a trash team.

He’s made over $110 million in his career.  I doubt he’s moving to Buffalo for a 1 year/$1.2 million deal.

It'd be a step up from where he's living now <_<

What??  I know Von hate can cloud opinions but this is getting ridiculous.  Von Miller was a force the very first game he was in a Bills uniform.  He was pretty much a man against boys scenario.  Von came here in great shape and seemed like a leader.  As I remember it, Von had pretty much the game sealing sack against the Rams.  And during the half season he was on the line the Bills became the Superbowl favorites.

Von came here in great shape and significantly improved the Bills.  I'm sorry if this gets in your way of Von hate.

People forget that 3/4 of a season before his knee injury. He was a force, and would have continued like that. Him getting hurt on Thanksgiving was the thing that started derailing the 2022 season. He hasn't been the same since.

I would be all for letting Rasul walk, signing Slay for 1 year, and drafting a CB in the 2nd to replace him next season. I have to imagine he would rather finish his career back in Detroit instead of playing on a cheap deal for the Bills though.

Think that shows just how much easier it is to play D when your D-Line is getting after the QBs.

Ah yeah?….not with our pass rush despite his “career bests”.

Would it surprise you to know we had an equal or better pass rush than Philly last year? 39 sacks to their 41, 151 pressures to their 111. The Super Bowl performance is skewing the perception on them. Equally important to their DL was that their secondary made Mahomes hold the ball a full second longer than we did, with Slay of course being an important contributor in that area.

I love, love, love Darius Slay. He is the least well respected elite player of his generation. If he had been drafted in the top 10 or by a fancier team than (at the time) Detroit he would have way more than the one all pro nod he has and people would be talking about him as a future hall of famer.

However, he is 34. He had the worst year of his career in 2023 and while he rebounded big time in 2024 to roll back the years.... I don't wanna be betting on that again. Breaks my heart to say it... but I'd pass.
