Do you have any store or restaurant policies?

Everybody has their own personal policies for certain establishments (no need to mention any particular place), so what have you got?

I've got a few......

* When my wife and i go to a new restaurant, i always order a burger........you see, burgers are fairly simple to make and if the place can't make a decent burger, then why would i waste my time going back to try anything else?

* I never return anything back to a store if it's under $20........by the time i factor in my time, gas, etc. it's just not worth it for me to go back to the store to return anything under that amount.

* When people leave their shopping carts unattended in the middle of aisleways, impeding everyone else's movement, i ram right through them, no apologies and just begging for someone to say something.......they don't.

* When i look at a restaurant menu, i look at the most expensive thing on the menu and the least expensive right off the bat. I like to see what that particular establishment depicts between a $30 meal and a $3 meal........i don't know, man, it's just my thing.

* I always get a gas receipt after i fill up my truck........years ago, i filled up my truck and drove away and 10 minutes later the police were at my door saying i didn't pay for my gas. I had the gas receipt in my pocket and could prove i paid. It seems the gas station attendant was pocketing cash from the register and then calling the police on certain cars to say they didn't pay and just drove away, so the blame was on the customer to prove they paid and hence, a gas receipt.

People's personal policies fascinate me, so what's yours?

Tell me.......tell me now.

* I always avoid women at the store who are only buying tampons.......seriously. If they are only purchasing that one item then it's because they had to make a special trip to the store for it, which means they are not in a good mood to begin with, now couple that with "that time of the month" and oh boy, get out of their way and away from you as quick as possible.

Most ignorant thing ever posted in here…..seriously.

Or they could be buying it for someone else. My mother made me go to the store for my sister when it was needed right away.

Not so much certain rules but I can be particular about only ordering certain dishes at certain restaurants and then having certain beverage pairings to go with it.  Which is also weird because generally speaking I like ordering different things, but I just find certain spots that have the particular dishes that become my go to for that establishment

This might be veering into a “pet peeve” thread. But I have gotten so annoyed at all these reserved curbside pick-up parking spots at stores, that I now actively seek them out to go and park in them (even if there are other open spots nearby).

Absolutely! There is only one place I will order wings, because they make them the best. Another place has the best clam chowder, while I prefer the French onion soup at another place. There is a place I visit maybe every other month, and I always get the same thing. I walked in yesterday and the bartender says “Arnold Palmer?” Yes, please. “And the fish tacos with fruit?” Now he’s just showing off or making fun of me. 😊

Along those lines, my wife once got a Christmas card from Boston Market addressed to “The Chicken Salad Lady”. 😂

I can picture @Sweats hanging out in the feminine hygiene aisle, assessing potential threats, and taking defensive measures and its really amusing.

Dang, I miss Boston Market!  In my young, single, and happy days, they were a solid go-to place to pick up dinner...and I've yet to find a better chicken pot pie.

That’s how I felt. And it was the corner store where everyone in the neighborhood went. 🫣

I thought my wife alone would keep Boston Market alive! Between her and the kids, they had a lot of meals there. It got to the point I couldn’t look at it any more, so she made it her lunchtime drive thru deal, hence her close relationship with the people in the window. 😂

I must say, I preferred the Boston Market phase to the roasted (a little too long) broccoli and shallots phase. That lasted for a couple years, but it’s just now making a resurgence and I’m getting a bit concerned.

listened to a podcast the other day talking about the demise of Boston Market. It was basically the cheap grocery store rotisserie chickens that did them in.

There are a few Boston markets left, hanging on by a thread, with the operators basically running to the local grocery store for ingredients.

My store pet peeve are the robotic spill detectors at Stop 'N Shop. Not sure if they've made their way to other supermarkets but man are they annoying.

The Giant near me has one and I swear to God I'm going to beat it to death with a sledgehammer one of these days.

I do enjoy putting inappropriate stickers on it now though.

Absolutely right! She’s not obsessive about it the way she was at Boston Market (I just realized BM might be a bad abbreviation), but the Lemon Pepper Chicken from Publix is in the rotation. Easy, cheap and versatile.

I often leave my cart in the middle of the aisle so that a) I am not blocking shelves that people might want to access and b) people can move freely around it on either side.

It's hard for me to imagine somebody acting like such a spoiled, self-important bullying jackass that they would intentionally ram into it and hope it resulted in a fight.

Yet here we are...
