He re-signed last year at $985k. We should be able to bring him back around there. Anything less than $1.5M is a no-brainer and save those draft assets for where we need them because we arent going to get DEs or DTs at that rate.

The NFL needs to reevaluate their positions, the NFLPA needs to bend the knee in this to help these vested players.

 

Instead of taking rates for TE there needs to be a Special Teams position, same with nickel backs, and enforcing linebacker vs defensive end vs "edge."

Morris should leave. He is too good to be a #3 TE. Needs to go somewhere where he can play.

Beane has done this multiple times in the past. Let a guy test the market. If he doesn't get signed (usually the case) Beane brings him back at less than the lower tender.

 

BTW, I really like Morris. His number doesn't get called much, but when it does, he makes a big play.

We can easily get out of Knox's contract next year.  I wouldn't be surprised if they drafted his replacement.

Davidson's weakness is blocking.  The Bills seem pretty intent on having their third tight end possess a skill set that includes blocking.  It's hard to see him beating out a tight end who can block as well as catch a pass even if he is a better receiving tight end.  Maybe he can pack some more muscle onto his frame and polish up his blocking, but he hasn't so far.

Correct.  We need to pay Minimum via a draft pick and use the remaining $2M+ in other situations.  This is the same they have to do for resigning Johnson too...If he is our 3rd back, we cannot afford to pay him $3M+...

At $3.3m that means Morris earned $91,666 per receiving yard last season. Nice!

Morris showed ability to shake loose down the field in limited action. He could be a good second option for some team. Hell, he may have been for us but that went out the window when we drafted Kincaid.

I think it depends on his other opportunities. If he has the chance to go to a team where he likely will be TE2 and can get on the field more (on offense), then he’ll take that opportunity. In Buffalo he’s mostly a specials player.

I wouldn't be shocked if this one of those not going to tag him but re-sign him at the veteran minimum type things. Either way he's a good but not great player and as others elude could be replaced with a rookie with more upside if eventually let go of Knox.

I hope they can't him back I have always thought that if they used him more he could be another great weapon for Josh the guy is money and has great hands when ever he is needed to make a big catch he's there . If they don't sign him fairly quick .

 

I believe Dabol & Shein will steel him because they know just how good he is and they need really good players if not the Pats will scoop him up .

Sure, that too. As others have mentioned, we have to bring almost 100 guys into camp. And teams usually stock up on TEs, RBs, DBs, and OL as camp fodder. So I'm sure we'll bring a couple more in.  I like your UDFA idea because I just dont want to waste real draft picks on addressing our #3 TE.

IMO the only way you draft a pre round 6 TE in this draft is if you think Kincaid won’t be on the roster in September. 
 

Wouldn’t hate dangling him for a trade before his value is in the toilet for a change.
