I think the Commanders could do better. I think this is pulling the trigger way too fast on a trade like this. I am willing to bet there will be better receivers that will shake loose here soon.

Better maybe, but it only cost a 5th and the Commanders have the cap space to spare

They have money and a 5th rounder isn't a lot to give up. Not to mention they can play Deebo outside and allow McLauren to play inside. Their Offense was already tough to stop.

Also some winning experience in the room

I’m aware of their cap space and that’s one of the reasons why I think they pulled the trigger too quick. There will be better. Samuel just doesn’t do it for me.

It’s a fifth round pick lol. Baylon Spector tier.

Good for them.  They have the cap space to make a move like this and he should help them.  That said, I'm not a big Deebo guy and he wasn't on my radar at all.  The Bills need better at the WR position especially at that money.

They’re probably not done. But he’s not expected to be the one just a nice weapon for Jayden.

Again, it’s not the compensation. It’s the player. I think Samuel is vastly overrated.

Ok what FA target do you think the Commanders can’t go after due to this trade?

Tell someone 2 years ago you are getting Deebo for a 5th lol what a fall from grace

Happens all the time.

Just waiting for the “can you believe the Commanders got him for a fifth” when he has 900 yards and 6 TD’s next year.

Jesus Christ what does that have to do with I don’t like Samuel as a player?

Just go away.

Support your takes. Who is the player they could “do better” with? And why does this trade mean they still can’t “do better?”

Just say Deebo sucks next time if that’s all you think.

He's on a 1 year contract with a massive cap hit and he's coming off a bad year. I'm not surprised the return isn't much.

Of course not but it’s par for the course. If Deebo hit the market, someone would probably pay him $8-10M guaranteed.

I just think draft picks are supremely overrated. There are much better odds that Deebo is good next year than whatever 5th round pick is drafted.

It's a solid move as a 5th round pick is not massive draft capital they are basically taking him on with cap dollars. I think the Commanders if they can get another solid boundary WR opposite Scary Terry and use Deebo more as a complementary weapon and not a super heavy volume player I think it can work out well for the Commanders.

That's fair. Compensation for veterans always seems either way too little in the case of most or ridiculously high in the case of premier talents. And there seems to be very little middle ground.

I think Deebo is a much better player than this board perceives his talent to be.
