It's early in the offseason. Folks will post like they've never been through an entire offseason before all the way through June.

It's like why we signed David Edwards AND Connor McGovern AND drafted Torrence AND drafted Doyle AND drafted Brown AND drafted Anderson AND...

 

And now we have a solid line with great depth because knicks and injuries do happen, and we can go dominate defenses with 6 OL as well.

 

Depth is crucial to these long (and growing longer) seasons, especially when we're going deep in the playoffs every year. It's even more crucial to have depth in the trenches.

An NFL training camp roster consists of 90 players.  That's going to include cheap veteran free agents as well as draft choices.  Buffalo could conceivably dump Von Miller and possibly even AJ Epenesa to give them more cap room.  That's assuming they try to bring in an upgrade as a starter.  That still leaves room for a guy like Smith as depth.
