DrDawkinstein Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Interesting note of "unable to secure NFL team following last year's Giants experience". Schoen and team really did get eaten alive on a number of points. The biggest one being the handling of Barkley, the owner saying he just doesnt want him in the division, and then the rest of the year playing out. Schoen's classic line of "I'm not paying a $45M QB to hand off to a $13M RB"... Guess no teams want to open the robe and show just how unsure the offseason really is. 1 2 1 Quote

Eagles go on to win a super bowl with an even more expensive QB... Even if his cap hit was lower his total comp was way higher than jones. What he probably should have said: I'm not paying 13M for a back to average 3.9 YPC (his stats in 2023-2024), that cap space would be better used on offensive linemen to protect my QB and boost the poor rushing attack. 1 Quote

Weird because in the past I could have sworn several times the NFL basically forced a team to be in it. 1 Quote

This is the "offseason" version, not the training camp one where they force teams in. Sounds like these extra versions arent contractually obligated. 1 1 Quote
PonyBoy Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Good! That means the Bills won't be on it. I never want to see that happen. Quote
SCBills Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Schoen was actually right to not pay Barkley, but ended up getting torched because of the show. 1 Quote

That's the regular pre-season version, not the off-season which so far only had the NYG. Nobody wants to be the next team that needs a QB & sees the guys they passed on starting & playing well, like Bo Nix did with Denver. Quote

Maybe you shouldn't be paying a $15M QB $45M? That's probably his first error. 1 1 1 Quote

Although I give them credit that they built that contract with an out after only 2 years. The big mistake was still thinking Jones was their guy, but I think that came from ownership. Schoen was interviewing QBs and talking about trading up. Probably why they are still employed. Mara knows it was his meddling. Quote

Schoen is a walking duck, but absolutely loved seeing inside a front office. With that said Belichek and an inside look at a hopeful UNC college team, is one helluva consolation prize! Dude proli hung up on them..... then AD got wind of it and told him its happening no matter what. Would be awesome to see a local college team of mine shoot up through the ranks Quote

RyanC883 Posted 16 minutes ago Posted 16 minutes ago another BB benefit. Huge recruiting assist for that program. Come to Cuse instead. Fran Brown is more interesting than BB. Quote
