the best deep ball throwers don’t necessarily have to have the biggest arms, but they tend to throw those catchable “moon balls”

I agree with this, and I stand by my earlier post. There’s room for improvement on Allen’s end, but I still think we’d see a bigger statistical impact with different players being targeted on those deep shots.

Josina Anderson's reply to Jeremy White yesterday raised my eyebrow a bit:

 

Replying to Jeremy with "Remember folks, DK also has to have interest in whatever teams want him too" unprompted made me wonder if it was a message warning he may not want to come to Buffalo. Now with the news that he doesn't want to play in a cold weather climate, i'm pretty sure that's what she was getting at.

 

He also said this when asked recently about going to New England:

 

I wanted to take that as more of an all ecompassing answer about the state of that team or maybe disliking the Boston area in general. But i'm thinking it has just as much to do with it being a cold Northern area.

 

Here's hoping the pull of playing with MVP Josh and a perennial contender makes him re-think this. Or that the price tag drops to a point where even acquiring him without knowing if you'll have him for more than 1 season is still worth it. But yeah, this is a real sobering realization that takes me from thinking it's a real possibility to unlikely

This feels like Diggs last year. He's angling his way to the Texans. NFL players are starting to act like NBA players and force trades to certain destinations and Houston is the most popular landing spot. Think about it:

1. Young QB who everything thinks is good
2. Warm weather. There are no outside cold weather teams in the division. 
3. One of the strip club capitals of the United States. 
4. Party-like atmosphere on the team with a players coach. 

The Dolphins and Texans players have a much better time all season than the Bills and Chiefs players and it has nothing to do with facilities or winning.

They have no 3rd but have 2 seconds. They also will have 2 fours I think. The Bills have 10 draft picks right now I believe.

If we can get him at a compensation level ($ and draft picks) that doesn't compromise fixing the defense, great. He'd fill the biggest question mark on O. That said, I'll never understand this idea that we need to prioritize resources to the offense.

 

It's like a person over-complicating weight gain/loss. Calories in VS calories out. Points for VS points against. It's exponentially more difficult for a top 2 offense to add 5 ppg than a bottom 10 defence to reduce 5 ppg.

 

All the complaints about previous defense investment are the very definition of sunk cost fallacy and irrelevant. It's still the area that most needs attention and the area most likely to hold us back.

Sounds to me like he's really saying he wants to play for Houston. NFL is not the NBA, fella.

Chargers make a lot of sense to give Herbert a decent downfield weapon.  Not sure how good of a fit he'd be in a Greg Roman offense though.
