eball Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Metcalf fits everything the Bills need. Speed on the outside, ability to win contested balls, and blocks like a mudder-facker in the run game. 2 1 1 1 Quote
Low Positive Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Do the Bills count as a contender? Certainly not with McDumbass as coach and the worst drafting GM in the NFL's history. Or at least that's the impression I get from reading this board and as we all know, hot takes on the Internet are never wrong. 2 1 5 1 1 Quote

BillsFanForever19 Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago (edited) "Only" That word got me thinking. And after Higgins being tagged - he might be right. Adams (who I don't think is a fit from either side) would be the only other game changing perimeter WR I can think of, but I don't think he's in his "prime" right now. To me, Metcalf would be the top priority. You can still go out and sign a Josh Sweat or short term upgrades like Khalil Mack or Joey Bosa at DE and keep your 1st, as well as save cap on the contract Garrett would cost vs. Metcalf (especially after the deal Crosby just got). Doc Brown Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago A 27 year old WR that wears #14 that's been misused in an offense so far in his career with confusing character reports is available via trade? I'm just guessing but maybe a first and fourth should suffice. 8 1 Quote
TheBeaneBandit Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago How about a second and Curtis Samuel and a 3rd in 2026? 1 Quote
Alphadawg7 Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago 1 hour ago, HappyDays said: Honestly why not both? Metcalf as the long term extension with an artificially low 2025 cap hit, Adams as the more expensive in 2025 one year stopgap for the #2 role while we wait to see how Coleman develops. Get the WR room set and then go all in on rebuilding the defense in the draft. In Metcalf we're talking about a perennial 1,000 yard WR who has also produced at a high level in the playoffs. If that's overrated what does that say about our current WR room? Ha, nice wishful thinking...never going to happen. Quote
Warriorspikes51 Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago I’m willing to offer 2nd, 4th, 6th, Kincaid GET HIM there’s likely going to be 5-6 teams who are quite interested so we need to make a serious offer 2 1 1 Quote
Alphadawg7 Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Go get DK and right the wrong I was screaming about on draft day where at both our picks I was pounding the table for DK and then continued to pound the table to trade back into round 2 for DK after they took Ford. I still am in the camp of if it can only be one...Myles or DK...then go get Myles. But I am also in the camp of go get one of them at least...and please let the football gods let us get both! 1 1 Quote

This team needs an infusion at the top of their roster. Garrett instantly becomes their 2nd best player and is a top 5 overall player in football (top 10 at least). DK is a top 5 player on this team and fills a massive need. He’s a top 75 player in the NFL IMO. These are the conversations that the Bills need to be involved with!! They have always done well building depth and the back of the roster. They don’t have enough dudes. These guys are dudes. 2 5 1 Quote

Problem is they tried that last year only to have both Ayuik and Ridley turn them down with the largest contracts. Metcalf already leaked his preference is to a contender which I read as a direst message to the Patriots. Of course, the big difference between last year and this year is last year New England had an unknown rookie head coach and nothing substantial at QB. This year they have Vrabel and Maye showed very well last season. While not a true Super Bowl contender just yet it could easily be a program players can talk themselves into wanting to join and help build to that level. Quote
TheFunPolice Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago For Metcalf: 2025: 2nd round pick (earlier of our 2) 2026: 3rd round pick pick For Garrett: 2025: #1 2026: #1 2027: #1 1 Quote
MikePJ76 Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago fwiw i was just in the car listening to Bryan Broaddus who is a personal friend of Seahawks GM John Schneider (they were in the scouting department together in GB in the 90s) he said he talked to him last week and he had no plans of trading Metcalf. So that is interesting as metcalf is now asking for one. Quote

Because of where he was drafted, and the expectations that were placed upon him, I would hope to get quite a bit in that acquisition if not, he’s still on a rookie contract. He isn't a lost cause. But if he needs to be part of the package to get me DK he is disposable. 4 Quote

I am saying it sounds like Seattle didn't want to trade metcalf and were going to keep him and maybe extend him but he must have wanted to leave or they were not willing to discuss an extension yet after they talked. Same here. This has been one of Beane's biggest failures. Dline is the biggest. Followed by this. This is the time of year that you fantasize about these dream scenarios. For me, it's a wink wink deal with Berry for a post June 1st trade. We keep all our picks from this year, and spend a pick for DK, draff a big beefy DT, and a CB. Than June 1st, trade for Garrett. Personally, getting Metcalf suits the bill/ Bills well.. especially for the offer you’ve listed. Garrett will be more expensive- no doubt. While I trust Beane is on both, get the cheaper Offensive star and then choose carefully in this D dominated draft! Quote
