Basically he’s gonna Myles Garrett and sign with whoever pays him the most.

If we have to pay a Buffalo tax, so be it. Give Seattle the exact draft capital they're looking for plus an extra $2M per season. Make John Schneider and Metcalf's agent happy, they'll team up to convince him it's a good move.

 

I hope we don't quibble over minor details because we feel it's unfair or whatever. The past couple weeks have proven elite talents are not going to just hit the market all that often. This is our shot, do what it takes and worry about the consequences in 5 years.

I’m good with this.  Structure a deal to make the agent and him happy so there is some form of “sticker shock” that is basically window dressing. VOID YEARS. Use them.

No. He’s easily worth a 2nd and we have two of them.  The time is now.  Nevermind his salary.
 

We need elite players to win a Championship. This player is IMO elite in certain aspects. Size & Speed combo + deep threat.  He could pay massive dividends to this offense making us able to win in a multitude of ways.

What happens when you give up premium picks or a pick and give him 30+ a year and then he gets 3 catches for 25 yards.

The bills need an outside wr or two but they need to be on board with the offense and the role.   He doesn’t strike me as the guy who will stay on the team first bus if the team struggles for a bit.

Josh Allen threw for the least amount of yards since 2019. 

 

DK’s role in the offense will be bigger than any individual receiver in 2024 because he’s better than all those guys.

 

You don’t trade for DK and only throw him the ball 3 times.

They just went through it with diggs, it didn’t work, he screwed up the locker room and then cost the team the ability to sign players in 24 because they had to trade him and the money hurt them.

And it worked out great.  Came up just a little short team wise.

 

the bills are now a big physical running offense.  The fact that people still do not understand this is very confusing but then again it’s the same people who have been dying to give away number 1 and 2 picks for wr.  
 

Metcalf is simply not going to be worth that contract.

what on earth are you talking about? Diggs was ELITE here for 3 seasons and was huge for Josh Allen’s growth.

I disagree… the Diggs trade definitely worked out.  Josh turned into an elite QB and Diggs became a top 5 WR in the NFL.  Also the Bills haven’t lost an AFCE Championship since his arrival.

 

The re-signing of Diggs is the deal that killed the team.  I think Beane might have moved too quickly thinking it might make him happier.  Regardless, the initial risk was definitely worth the reward

If you draft the positions like DE and WR well, you don't need to get into the high-stakes and costly UFA/trade market because those guys typically get re-signed.    

 

Specifically at WR, draft the position more than those 2 RD2 picks in the span of 8 drafts rather than repeatedly banking on veterans UFAs/trades.  Boundary receivers that is, not slot types.  

 

They've had plenty of chances to improve the WR group and somehow other priorities always were cited as evidence why they couldn't.  At DE, they've taken a LOT of swings and aside from Rousseau haven't done well.  Von was a good intention that didn't work.  Other than that, UFA DE's have been middling at best.  

 

Beane gotta up his game on draft day.
