You have to match the game logs to weather history on Weather Underground.  On 11/30/2020 in Philadelphia he had a big day. But I looked up the weather and it was unseasonably warm that day with temps in the 60's. Other than that, his 100+-yard receiving days came in the early part of the season and in domes. His performance in late-season home games drops off too once it gets cold in Seattle. There is a single outlier; 12/24/2022 in KC, where he had 80 yards in a loss to the chiefs and it was bitter cold that day. But that is really an exception to the rule.

Fwiw.. shouldn’t this give pause to a team like LAC or HOU in trading for him?

If his asthma is truly affecting him like that, can’t hate on the man for it.. but those teams will likely have to play in KC, BUF, BAL etc when it matters..

So the 200+ yards in the playoff games at Philly and GB in 2020 don't count as cold weather?   And you say his performance declines later in the season(when it gets colder)?  I think you are confusing the fact that inclement weather tends to reduce the passing game in general with the idea that DK is notably more affected than most WR in those conditions.

As Bills fans we regularly watch the team struggle to pass the ball at home in windy, rainy or cold situations and then go on the road to a warm outdoor environment or in a dome the next week and look like a totally different team.   Just saw it in the back to back games versus LA and Detroit this year.   Proved a little tougher to thread those needles in the cold of the playoffs, didn't it?

Ideally, all skill players prefer to play in domes or warm environments.   But that's why you build a winning organization that can draw talent that would otherwise prefer to play in a warmer climate.

Buffalo is warm in the summer

Sounds perfect for a team with multiple seconds to trade.

Please Beane. Don’t be so afraid of how Diggs ended up to do this.

You’d likely need to convince him to sign an extension to agree to the trade

unless we’re comfortable parting with a 2nd potentially for 1 season.  Let him see if he’s OK with the cold after a year?

I have no problem extending DK at this stage of the game.

Especially if the choice is to give Amari $18M as an alternative.

Worry about cap hits in 2028. Go win.

We just can't catch a break with these types of things. Outside of Diggs. Antonio Brown didn't want to come here, Davante Adams wants to play with Rodgers, DHop cared more about money and chose to be traded to the Titans over the Bills to make more money, Myles Garrett decides he'd rather stay for a bad Cleveland team because of money. Now DK Metcalf doesn't want to play in cold weather. It's kinda stupid with some of these players

"How about playing with Josh Allen and win a Super Bowl?"

High profile players: "Nah, I want warmer weather and more money but good luck to you"

Lol. It's a joke

It's a joke they want to make as much as they can while their career lasts?

well great….now you need to convince him because of the cold

I guess the new stadium being “enclosed” with a heated field could be a sly way of convincing him

We are a superbowl contending team that would benefit from reeling a big fish through trade. And even when we are good, we are still having trouble because of money or weather. I can understand if we were bad like the drought. But if we can't get guys here by trade now because of money or weather or because players wanna play with their friends like Adams, what's it gonna take?

Yeah I think a couple extra mill and/or an extra pick will do well to convince them.

Diggs I assure you will have no impact on his decision to trade for DK or not…neither will the 2nd round alleged current asking price.  But the $30M a year and the dislike for cold weather might though.  $30M for a WR not even in the top 10 of his position is pretty high, and one who doesn’t like to play in the cold isn’t helping his case.

Im all for landing DK, but looking at the probability of it (assuming what is being reported is accurate) seems less and less likely.

I would love to land him or Hendrickson (although Hendrickson is my first choice), but there are things working against us in both those trades that go beyond just whether Beane is going to attempt to.

I mean with Hendrickson it’s a big question if they even trade him, let alone would they trade him to a perennial top 3 AFC team directly in their path to a SB.  Especially since Burrow wants to keep him…I mean how badly would they piss of Burrow by not only trading him, but helping a major AFC opponent get even better?

So starting to look around the landscape and think that big trade may just not be there to be made with several already signing extensions and the last 2 big ones have aspects that make it seem less probable said players would come here.

So my focus is now starting to look more heavily at FA and the draft with a small hope we can figure out how to pry away one of these big targets.

Chargers or Texans. But also notice that Russini (who is getting info from Metcalf's agent most likely) has dropped "contender" from his list of demands. Just 30M and a beach.

Does anyone know if trading Curtis Samuel to Seattle would free up cap space for us, or is it a negative hit?

Saves us 3.8M but why would they want him?

According to Spotrac, the Bills would save a bunch of cap with a trade and a whole bunch more with a post-6/1 trade. But who really knows.

Thanks. They have JSN and pretty much nothing else

maybe the Athletic’s “mock” offer from us makes sense then

It was a 2026 3rd and Samuel for DK  3@85.5 mil

offer the 2nd we got from Diggs instead and send it

I think Hendrickson is off the board for the Bills specifically.

To me, there’s no one in FA I’d rather give $30M to than DK.

I have to believe the LA teams are in the mix which is hard but we have the best QB. Depending on what DK is looking for for contract length, Buffalo may be his best shot to get paid AGAIN 3 years from now.

I will be extremely sad if he goes to KC. I’m not sure they can make the financials work but that will actually break me.
