Russini reported that the Seahawks were seeking a first- and a third-round pick in exchange for Metcalf, an admittedly high price to pay for an aging wideout. For reference, that’s roughly what the Eagles gave up for A.J. Brown in 2022. Metcalf is also reportedly seeking a contract extension worth around $30 million per season.

That's insane, if true.

this dream is all but done for.

Bills not mentioned here

Chargers, Patriots, Raiders, Steelers

and warm weather environment is important to him

The only issue I see here is that none of these teams are contenders…..not even close.

Players could convince themselves that the Chargers are contenders. They could also convince themselves that the Dolphins or Texans are one player away from contention.

Buffalo is warm in the summer

Okay Beane - looks like sending a 1st and $30M can get this thing done.  I'm on board.  Do it.

This sets the offense for 3-4 years (DK/Shakir/Kincaid/Coleman/Josh/R Davis).

The other big needle movers are wishful thinking, Garrett might not even go until June and for multiple 1sts, and we might not even get a seat at the Hendrickson discussion table, being a competitor and all.

From other reporters on X, it sounds like the more realistic trade Seattle has to consider is a mix of assets that equal a 2nd.   Doesnt sound like they’re even getting a 2nd Round pick offer.

DK wanting 30M kills their leverage and if the warm weather thing is an actual deal breaker and he’s serious about playing for a contender, that removes Buffalo, Kansas City, Baltimore, Green Bay etc..

I think, as a player in the midst of a trade, it’s kinda weird to come out and make it known that you want to play for a warm weather team. Why say this publicly? Hundreds of guys play in cold weather across the league, especially from the middle of the season until the end, I’d think the locker room dynamics would/should matter much more than playing weather.

A lot of demands from a player. Hey I want to be traded, but I also need 30 mill a year and oh yea a contender in a warm climate.

If I was Schneider I’d tell him to eff off and trade him wherever I feel like

Agreed, but now Schneider calls Beane and says “hey, is that 2nd on the table?” And Beane responds with “For a guy we have to extend at 30M and says he doesn’t want to play long term for…?”

And repeat for any cold weather contender and teams with assets/cap like NE.

Kinda kills his negotiating power…

He's not demanding warm weather or a dome due to personal preference. He says he has asthma and thus a hard time playing in the cold. If you look at his game logs, he does seem to perform worse in cold-weather games. I'm sure there are some outliers, but it does seem to be a trend.

If he’s a dud in the cold due to health reasons then this thread should go ahead and close now, at least from our perspective of wanting him.

1st round pick?  Or even just a 2nd round pick? Absolutely!!

Immediately opens the field with his upfield speed.  Takes the pressure off the short field.

And the contract? Make it cap friendly, give a bunch of guaranteed money and the cold ain’t so cold anymore.

I looked thru his game logs and have no idea how you came to this conclusion.   Very misleading of you, IMO.

For asthma sufferers both dry and cold and hot, humid weather climates(like where he's from in MS) are challenging but easily manageable.

The bottom line is that DK lives in LA.......like Josh Allen.........and DK would prefer to live in LA.   So he's attempted to narrow his list to the Rams or Chargers.   And you know he's NOT getting traded to the Rams.   If the Chargers don't want him........and Harbaugh really doesn't value WR's traditionally.......then it's back to the drawing board.

If he wants a warm weather contender that's going to be tough.

Most good teams are cold weather teams. I suppose Detroit and Minnesota having domes would work.

My prediction is Houston. AFC, need WR, have QB, warm weather, and between Side Eye being a FA and Dell always getting hurt they have a huge need.

You have to match the game logs to weather history on Weather Underground.  On 11/30/2020 in Philadelphia he had a big day. But I looked up the weather and it was unseasonably warm that day with temps in the 60's. Other than that, his 100+-yard receiving days came in the early part of the season and in domes. His performance in late-season home games drops off too once it gets cold in Seattle. There is a single outlier; 12/24/2022 in KC, where he had 80 yards in a loss to the chiefs and it was bitter cold that day. But that is really an exception to the rule.

I looked at his logs too and didn’t notice any difference, but Seattle hasn’t played many away games on the east coast or midwest in the winter.  He did have 80+ yards in a KC december game a few years ago

maybe Josh can convince him + the medical staff can help manage the asthma ?

We just can't catch a break with these types of things. Outside of Diggs. Antonio Brown didn't want to come here, Davante Adams wants to play with Rodgers, DHop cared more about money and chose to be traded to the Titans over the Bills to make more money, Myles Garrett decides he'd rather stay for a bad Cleveland team because of money. Now DK Metcalf doesn't want to play in cold weather. It's kinda stupid with some of these players

"How about playing with Josh Allen and win a Super Bowl?"

High profile players: "Nah, I want warmer weather and more money but good luck to you"

Lol. It's a joke
