Wacka Posted February 28 Posted February 28 First time I watched color TV at someone's house. Had seen color TVs in the store, but my uncle, who worked at Chevy (was good $ then) had just bought one. He invited everyone over for the game. We didn't get one until 1968. 2 Quote

The first color TV I ever saw was at Jack Kemp’s house. I went to 3rd grade with his son Jeff. That was pretty cool! He had a toy chest full of AFL game balls, and even spent quite a few years in the NFL himself. 3 Quote
Utah John Posted March 1 Posted March 1 Elbert Dubenion didn't get a mention. Was he injured? That was a great defense, particularly on the line, but really at all levels. 1 Quote

Played only the first 3 games of the season. Not sure if he got injured in the third game or in practice. Quote

Gowdy was by far the leading play by play man in NFL games in the 60s and going into the 70s. Little known fact -- Gowdy was from Wyoming (as I found out when I went to grad school at the University of Wyoming -- before Josh was even born). There were so few celebrities from Wyoming back then that they named a state park after Gowdy. 1 Quote
