Brees played in a dome, Josh plays in the opposite of a dome. It certainly changes things.

Yep Josh throws slants in a snow storm and somehow gets a lateral reverse for a TD

Two different players

I’d like to see more long TD’s like he had the previous couple seasons.

And chocolate layer cake. Really like chocolate layer cake.  Oh and a new bike.  Like a shiny new bike.

Recap:

1.  More long TD’s passes

2.  Chocolate layer cake

3.  New bike - Shiny new

It might be similar in some ways. But the Saints offense with Brees was pass happy and didn’t focus as much on the run. They also had better weapons at receiver.

Not at its best it wasn't.

You know what I'd like to see?  A WR other than Shakir get open on their own.  I'd like to see a WR be able to beat man and press coverage.  Give Allen some easier throws than have to force the ball into tight coverage the entire game.  The fact that Allen has the completion percentage he does is actually quite astounding when you take a look at the WR separation numbers.....or lack there of.

Spot on

I would add that it is not an apples to apples comparison with Brees:

1. Brees throws never had the sheer velocity that JAs do, and as such you would expect a few of those to be dropped.

2. Further to point 1 and your main point - our targets get below average separation, which means there are more Dbs, LBs and even DL men batting down passes whilst JA is looking for the open receiver.

3. You also need to consider the catching reliability of our WRs, TEs and RBs - all except Shakir and Hollins (and possibly Ty) have demonstrated a significant case of the dropsies. This goes back to the likes of Gabe Davis and Trent Sherfield as well. JAs best completion stats were recorded when he had the likes of Diggs and Beasley.

In summary - receiving talent matters.

Well, he doesn’t have a losing record in SB’s. That’s gotta count for something right?

In fairness Brees was rarely separated by a great cast of separators at receiver either. Now the likes of Graham, Colston and Thomas were all excellent at their positions - no question about that - but they are all bigger guys who won at the catch point rather than being separators.

None of Allen’s stats are concerning.

What is concerning is that he isn’t being great when we need him to be great.

If we’re down by 3 with more than two minutes in the clock, we should feel confident that we’re at least going to overtime.

Nobody is confident in that.

Not being accurate isn’t the problem.

Not being clutch is the problem.

You must have lost your mind...Allen has produced in the clutch far more than hasn't.

Brady never got to 70% and had career average under 65%.  Mahomes never smelled over 70%.

It's a meaningless stat for a top QB

separation?  Shakir only averaged 10.8 per catch
