This offense is a version of the Sean Payton offense he ran in N.O. correct?  In Drew Brees 15 seasons he had 7 seasons of 70+ % completion rating and 4 more over 67%.   If we aren't force feeding a #1 WR, then I would like, since its his 2nd season in this offense, then he should make a huge jump in Completion %.

Im sure Brees had bad games that brought his down. One issue with Josh is he can't keep having those games every year that hurt him like that. Consistency is what we need more of at this stage of is career.

It might be similar in some ways. But the Saints offense with Brees was pass happy and didn’t focus as much on the run. They also had better weapons at receiver.

Allen has the highest completion percentage in the league on difficult throw's.

His WR’s this year got the least separation of any team in the league. There is more to it than the QB just throwing it.

You want consistency from Allen?  How about:

*  6 straight playoff seasons

*  5 straight division titles

*  Top 5 playoff stats in NFL history

*  Hasn't missed a game since 2018

*  More total TD's in his first 7 seasons then any other QB in NFL history has scored through their first 8 seasons in the league.

When folks said Allen needed to cut down on his TO's that was a legitimate area for improvement.  Increasing his completion percentage by a few points is a nice to have that is unlikely to have any impact on the number of season & playoff wins.

You're missing a key stat....

RB completions/% rate.  Kamara/Ingram accounted for 150+ targets and receptions.  Compare that to Cook/Ty/Davis with a combined 67 catches this season....

Those RB screens will help inflate that %.  Nothing against Brees, he's a 1st ballot HOF QB.  We arent running the same offense though.  Our WR screens to Shkair helped Josh, but not to that magnitude.

Exactly this. The amount of passes thrown to RBs is night and day.

You know what I'd like to see?  A WR other than Shakir get open on their own.  I'd like to see a WR be able to beat man and press coverage.  Give Allen some easier throws than have to force the ball into tight coverage the entire game.  The fact that Allen has the completion percentage he does is actually quite astounding when you take a look at the WR separation numbers.....or lack there of.

In 2024 with Allen playing the Bills were one of the most efficient offenses in the history of the NFL and averaged 31.8 points per game.  For all of Brees great completion percentage years, he basically only had 1 year that was like this one, in 2009 where they averaged 31.9 points per game.

What I am saying is that points scored matters a lot more, Allen may get slightly higher but he throws the ball away quite a bit so that likely will limit how high he can go.
