He isn't even close Tremaine did it at 20 years old, Dorian did it at 23 I'll add this, if this is an AI generated tweet it really makes you wonder why corps are spending Billions on AI because this one is not even close to factual. I think they mean he was the youngest with over 100 tackles last season. Not ever. Quote

I agree that the comment was relative to the 2024 season and not relative to all-time NFL statistics. Regardless, and notwithstanding that Williams has some flaws in his game (namely being out of position in coverage), it's still a positive statistic for Williams. He's an ascending young player. Admittedly “everyone” was a poor choice of words, so apologies for that. I more meant those that did miss it just given that clearly Dorian is older than lots of guys who have gotten 100 tackles including former Bills players. I like Dorian, and he’s showing up in Shakirs offseason workouts that Shakir is posting on IG, so love seeing him putting the work in to keep getting better Quote

klos63 Posted February 28 Posted February 28 I don't dislike him, but I'm not sold. 0 pass defenses, 0 interceptions, 0 sacks, 1 FF. Every team has a leader in tackles, so that means little. He's primarily in there to defend against the run, and while it's not all on him, our run defense was poor. Maybe with a strong Dline, he'll make more impact plays, but right now , an average linebacker. We need more from our LB's. Quote

Big Blitz Posted February 28 Posted February 28 He should only get better. Could become a Roquon he’s only 23. 1 Quote

wppete Posted February 28 Posted February 28 Dorian Williams was a beast this year. Hope he is on the field next year. Quote

Roquon age 23 season (3rd) - played and started in all 16 games. 139 comb tackles 98 solo. 18 TFL 4 sacks 2 INT Dorian age 23 season (2nd) - started 11 games played in 17 (very little when Milano came back). 117 comb tackles 68 solo. 5 TFL 0 sacks and 0 INTs. Very respectable. And I’d add he plays violent. We need that. 1 Quote

There were signs of improvement in 2024. The Jags game week 3 was a real high water mark. But there is still way too much inconsistency in his play, way too many mental mistakes. 1 Quote

H2o Posted February 28 Posted February 28 Dorian was solid this past season, but I think he will come into his own this year. I think he takes a step forward in his understanding of his role and what opposing offenses are doing. The guy has an elite closing burst and brings the hammer when he hits people. Quote
Fan in Chicago Posted February 28 Posted February 28 (edited) Bernard took a jump in his second year and Williams is trending upwards also in his second year. It will be nice if Buffalo Joe does the same. Edited February 28 by Fan in Chicago Quote

The author needed to add "this year" for that to make sense 1 Quote
BrooklynBills Posted February 28 Posted February 28 They will go with Bernard and Milano this year as the top 2 starters with Williams as the 1st backup and the #3 LBer for when they want to go with more trad 4-3 sets (which I think they will do a little more of moving forward). Milano has 2 years left on his deal and zero GTD money and they can get out relatively easily after this year. Just makes zero sense to trade him or Williams. Off ball LBers have almost zero trade value unless you are an elite player. I think they will ask Milano to take a paycut this year or move some of his $$ into NLTBE bonuses while GTDing some of his salary, then move off of him after this season and go with Williams and Bernard next year. ngbills Posted February 28 Posted February 28 These kind of stats are funny to me. I could see next year he barely hits field if our LB's stay healthy. Quote

Exaclty -- You could put any college LB on the field and he can tally up tackle numbers. At LB all that really means is you were on the field. Things like sacks, TFL, int's, etc are more telling if you want to look at impact. You look deeper at Dorian and he blitzed 41 times with no sacks. Targeted 59 times and no int's, plus giving up a 107 qb rating, and missed 8.6% of his tacks. So you can look at the tackle numbers and be impressed, but the other side tells a different story. 2 Quote
