I was there the last 2 days for specific needs.  today it was natural yogurt and milk.  yesterday, I was looking for Leyland cypress trees to plant on my lot line.  Seems my maga neighbor doesn't like that I don't keep all the property as a golf course.  they didn't have any but I got some shipped.  thank God they grow fast.  I think it was the Harris and Kaine signs in front of my drive.  His wife was friendly though.

Watch those closely. They grow fast, always an indicator of a weaker species.

The roots are quite shallow, so when they get big they are highly susceptible to toppling over.

Biggest problem is that their branches are quite weak and will break off with relatively small snow burden.

Best to clear the snow off them early.

yes.  they've actually done well here as  screen.  better than the Green Giant arbor vitae.  We have half and half to avoid a monoculture.  the leylands are about 25 feet and the giants 15 at 7 years old.  All look healthy.

In the SF bay area, they have been on a crusade for years to get rid of eucalyptus trees. They can topple easily in winds about 40 mph and higher. Also, they are not native  and their bark comes off a lot and prevents  much from growing underneath. Also the turkey vultures like to roost in them  and the ground is covered with a lot of their poop, further preventing stuff on the ground from growing. And with all the oil in them, in a fire they go up like kindling.

There is a grove of them on the Berkey campus and when you walk through it, it smells like Halls cough drops.

I was in walmart today.  best price was 5 dozen for $25.  Parking lot was uncrowded.  Yesterday must have been food stamp arrival day.  The lot was full of old cars with trump stickers...but they had these for $11.  Ok for the course, gym or casual dinner.  https://www.walmart.com/ip/Reebok-Men-s-and-Big-Men-s-Anchor-Five-Pocket-Pants-Size-28-48/1478017561?classType=VARIANT&from=/search  you're welcome

This just makes all the frantic "Why did egg prices go up under Trump? "  posts all the funnier.

Most knew the real reason. They were just parroting the talking point.

Biden isn’t to blame for egg prices going up

Trump isn’t to blame for egg prices going up when he first took office

Trump also doesn’t deserve credit for egg prices coming back down

There was a bird flu that caused prices to increase under Biden, they continued to increase under Trump, and now the efforts to recover from said flu are starting to pay off. It’s as simple as that. Blaming every trivial thing that happens on the current president, be it good or bad, is a blaring sign of low intelligence.

The Biden administration is absolutely to blame for the skyrocketing egg prices.

There have been avian flu outbreaks many times over the years, and there has always been real concern that a H5N1 strain will mutate to gain human to human transmissibility. However, the remedy has never been to slaughter 100+ million chickens.

You can agree or disagree with the remedy in this recent outbreak, but it was most certainly the cause of the egg shortage and nationwide egg price spike.
