Aw.  Sounds like some "workers" that spend all day trolling online are mighty scared they might have to state the 5 things they did this week.

So much but hurt

Not in the slightest.

I'm saying that you cannot operate the government as an entity that needs to make profit. It needs to be an entity that provides stability for the nation.

Elon and DOGE are eliminating that stability because there is NO PLAN for what they're doing. They've already begun begging nuclear technicians and ebola program managers to come back to work.

As a government employee myself, sure there are others in my field that are coasting to retirement. What organization doesn't have them? But I chose the position because I wanted to make the world a better place and this is the field I can do that the best. I hated corporate America when I first started out my career.

We already have a jobs program for the incompetent.  It's called DoorDash.

I dislike corporate America too but I work for a large corporation that provides a generous salary and good benefits. The people doing the actual work are genuinely committed to doing a good job for their customers but my conclusion is most of senior management talks the game but what matters most to them is the quarterly numbers. They engage in a lot of business speak but the bottom line is what matters. If they don't hit the numbers then people are going to get let go. I think most government workers are there to do a good job too. I expect they have similar feelings about the people in charge, or maybe not?

The problem is the Federal bureaucracy has grown into a 4th branch of government. Some organizations, like USAID are running their own policy and programs independent of the elected government. This can't be tolerated. There are other funky "arrangements" between government agencies and the industries they're supposed to regulate and oversee. And on top of this its apparent a lot of our tax dollars intended to provide support and assistance to people in need are really going to organizations that are purely political. Paying party members and political activists to sit on the bench in between election cycles. They don't work for the taxpayers but rather the party bosses. I could go on.

Almost like President Elon has no idea what he’s doing!

Joe Biden had his chance to start fixing it.

Looks like he didn't.  SNL said it best

Let’s just cut everything at this point and watch it all burn, it’ll be quite entertaining.

That doesn’t make any sense. Any federal agency can only operate within the laws that created it. They are all accountable to Congress.

Can you give me an example of a program that was “independent of the elected government?”
