joshypoo Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Latest news looks to be expect a 20% workforce reduction at minimum across VA, FBI, and IRS in the WNY area. Roughly about 11,000 fed workers in WNY, so looking at around 2,000+ layoffs before 3/13. Really hope those people land on their feet with a new role and their families aren’t impacted too much. It’d be a shame if this birthed a few Luigi’s.

Gee I can’t imagine why suddenly losing a position you’ve had for 20 years and all the benefits it included because some brain-dead MAGA decided it was communism would make someone go off the deep end.

Governments role is to serve the people, preferably efficiently, and right now it is not serving us and is very inefficient. If the role is not needed then the role needs to not exist.

You’re operating as if government has to be operated as a business. It isn’t, nor should it be.

He said the difference between my experience working in the private sector and a job in government is that if the private company is run poorly and inefficiently it will go out of business. If the government is run poorly and inefficiently they just raise taxes or borrow more money. I suspect this is more true today than it ever was before. Along with this most government workers are paid pretty well, get no/low cost health insurance, and defined pension plans for retirement. Add in lots of holidays. In the private sector we're dependent on health plans with high out of pocket expenses and high premiums and retirement dependent on how much we save in 401K and IRA accounts along with Social Security which we pay into all our lives. So not only do we pay for our own retirement we also pay for the retirement of the government workforce through high taxes at the Federal, State, and local levels.
joshypoo Posted 2 hours ago Author Posted 2 hours ago We’re facing what could be the largest layoffs in U.S. history…being conducted by a ketamine addicted conman. This is truly the best of times. 1

Does that federal withholding really hurt you that bad? Try to not be so poor. I just don’t get the whole “owning” thing people do here…these are our fellow community members being impacted, not some far off adversary. its bizarre.

Well those government workers and others living off the taxpayers should at least say thank you for providing them a free ride. And working for the government doesn't entitle anyone to lifetime employment. What is it the snarky liberal intellectuals tell people in the real world that are faced with hardships? "Learn to code" is it? Well there ya go.

These people wouldn't bat an eye if I lost my job. So no I don't feel bad. Why should I?

My brothers wife died, he had to call the social security office to cancel her benifits. He was on hold for hours. This was before all these cuts. Let us know when they find the waste and abuse.
