I actually really like Ollie, but with Davis here not sure he is the style of back they would target if they did move on from Cook via trade over the contract.  Feels like they would look to pair more of a big play threat, home run hitter with Davis.  As intriguing as Ollie is, his speed is more down hill style and while he has good long speed, he isn't that explosive in short areas.  I think they like how Cook was shifty and explosive in short areas around the LOS and will look to bring someone in who brings more of that if we did move on from him.

But I wouldn't hate us drafting Ollie by any means.

OK State? Can we get Barry Sanders 2.0 instead?

Ummm, there's another former OK State RB that might be a better fit here. :flirt:

This is probably on the money.

Too bad, that kid looks like he's a lot of fun to tackle for 4 qrtrs.

So, a pretty average running back? Blount was nothing special. He had two 1,000 yard seasons out of 11 in the league. He was a good complementary power runner and goaline back, but that's all.

If we bring in a back to replace Cook, he better have some speed.

Was he a teammate of Barry’s perchance?

This is a deep RB class which might push Ollie to round 3 despite being a round 2 talent.

I do hope we take one of the top 5 RB’s .

T Henderson who is fantastic at pass pro and comes with Ferrari engine speed would fit perfectly in this offense.

Hes going early round 2 however

I don’t know anything about this kid, but would love somebody with size for a change. It would be nice if Josh could hand the ball off to someone who’s capable of picking up short yardage.

Blount was electric his rookie year but after that he was always more of a plodding power back. Good at that role. The Pats utilized him well in that role for several years including an 18 TD season and the Eagles got him on a one year rental in 2017 where he was productive in their Super Bowl run. But in his later years with NE and Philly he was always just a grinder at RB.

I don't know what caused Blount to be such a low ypc (relatively speaking back) most of his career. All but 2 seasons his ypc never got above 4.4 ypc. The first season he was in New England and his rookie year he averaged 5 ypc his only years above 4.4 ypc. He seemed so electric coming out of the draft but after his rookie year never looked like that player again.
