Technically, I'm not so sure that you can count 10 yds of cushion as "coverage"... I'm looking at you Kaiir. 1 Quote

Six years ago (2019) they drafted DT Ed Oliver at #9. Five years ago (2020) they drafted DE AJ Epenesa at #54. They traded their first round plus some other picks for Stefon Diggs. They added RB Zach Moss and WR Gabe Davis in the 3rd & 4th rounds. They also draft Bass in the 6th round. This was probably the only year that the Bills went heavily offense in the draft. Four years ago (2021) they drafted DE Greg Rousseau at #30 and LB Boogie Basham at #61. Three years ago (2022} they drafted DB Kaiir Elam at #23 and LB Terrel Bernard at #89. They also signed LB Von Miller. Also on that 2022 defensive roster were All Pro LB Matt Milano, S Jordan Poyer, S Micah Hyde, CB Tre'Davious White, and LB Tremaine Edmunds. 1 Quote

My concern is that Beane is one of those fans. I don’t see how it’s possible. We haven’t been able to get Mahomes off his first and second reads in the playoffs with multiple All-Pros in the back 7. We are not 1 offseason away from having a defense capable of what the Eagles did in the SB. Even if we got a Garrett or Crosby. It’s more insanity I fear. 1 Quote

We have a small front 7 and a slow secondary. Quote

McDermott loves cover one man on third down in passing situations We probably also finished the year playing around 40% man coverage all around towards the playoffs.. it's not like we sit in a soft Tampa two 85% of the game I'm not as caught up with scheme anymore. Sean will always emphasize his version of the zone and that will never change. Our current problem is not x's or o's, it's Jimmy's & Joe's. Our defensive personnel are to small and injury prone. They just are. They can't survive a regular season. By the time playoffs start, they start falling like dominoes. We relied 80% on generating takeaways in order to mask our defensive deficiencies. Get bigger, stronger and hopefully this new conditioning head will turn things around? 2 Quote
