mead107 Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 if everyone is leaving buffalo [western NY ] why would trafic dubble in 20 years ???
LabattBlue Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 I feel bad for the homeowners who built homes on Wherle Drive west of Transit 40 years ago, but anyone who builds a home on a secondary road(as opposed to a subdivision) with little frontage is going to run into this at some point in the future unless you are out there in the middle of nowhere. The traffic coming from ECC North and the commerce parks nearby, makes the traffic heading towards Transit a joke at rush hour. It is a much needed expansion that is long overdue.
Sound_n_Fury Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 if everyone is leaving buffalo [western NY ] why would trafic dubble in 20 years ??? 370588[/snapback] The Town of Clarence's population has grown by 38% (5,414 people) since 1990. The road system was never built to handle that kind of volume and it's been a major bottleneck for commuting.
Wacka Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 Things change. Where the Wendy's is at Wherle and Transit wsa a drive in restaurant called Jimmy's. In the 60's my father would drive us from Cheektowaga to get the curly fries they made on the spot. They had the trays you could hang on the window and eat in the car. Was in shock when it was bulldozed for the Wendy's. The closest thing I've seen nowadays is In-N-Out Burger in CA and the west.
drnykterstein Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 I used to work on wherle, the traffic in that area is just brutal, and they seem to be just adding more businesses there all of the time. I would have thought just adding a thuway entrance to the nearby I-90 would solve the problem. I guess they have other ideas.
