BuffaloBillyG Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Missed 9 games last year with a pectoral injury. Good force inside when healthy. Last year of his contract and is a $22M cap hit for Washington. He would look really good next to Garrett.. 2 Quote
Mark Vader Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Intriguing, but I'd still like to get someone a bit younger. Quote
BILLS 4 EVER Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Another Daquon Jones. Great player, but not the same after pec tear. I don't know what it is about pec injuries but it seems to really take a long time to recover and guys just never seem to get back to full strength. Worth a flyer at the right price. Quote

Garrets number is low right now, but a quick glance at Spotrac and they don't have a lot of wiggle room for cap relief. As much as MG at $4.5M could yield a kings ransom, I don't think Cleveland can afford to trade him without a new contract in place. All that to say that is a lot of draft capital and cap space on just two players when the Bills have a lot of holes to fill (giggity giggity). Quote
transient Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago After Trent Murphy and Tim Settle, I say Washington can keep their defensive linemen to themselves. 4 1 Quote
MasterStrategist Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago How we affording this again? Cue the typical fans pay attention to names, and ignore the value/$ implications on rest of team. I like Jonathan Allen but not at his cap $ for 2025. And we have more extensions to make beyond Shakir. We have 5-6 real bad contracts on this team RN. Beane might be able to fix some of them via pay cut (ie: Von or Daquon), but if not, we are stuck with some of those deals and going to be stuck with dead cap again on the others. 1 Quote
BuffaloRebound Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Sounds like they’re gonna cut him. Doubt anybody’s trading for him with that money due him. I’d be cool with him or bosa on an incentive based contract, Quote

But I think realistically, Allen could be had for a mid round pick coming off the injury. Buy low. Re work his deal and it wouldn't be prohibitive at all IMO. Quote

You said "He would look really good next to Garret". Which is what I was responding to. So $16M plus his midround, plus Garrett's picks, plus Garrett's likely new deal that carries a much heavier cap number. Quote

I can see us trading for DL and signing one as a FA- but considering this draft class- I expect one stud via FA/trade and one draft pick followed up with some Smoot/JP like deals for vets Quote
MikePJ76 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago He is going to get cut. Nobody is trading for that contract. well nobody that is good at their job is trading for that contract. 1 Quote

Just go watch Cover1's salary cap podcast. We are not in a bad cap situation this year. 1 Quote

Cue the other typical fan response 'we can't afford it ..." Simple. You rework his deal. Add some void years. I don't even know if I'll be alive in 2030 so I really couldn't care less about "dead cap" 5-6 years from now. Look at Philadelphia. Learn from that. Quote
947 Posted 17 minutes ago Posted 17 minutes ago Nobody is taking his $22M cap hit, he's not worth that. Washington will have to cut him, then we'll be ready to talk. 1 Quote

I think they had expectations of a higher ceiling when they signed Trent Murphy and Tim Settle only to end up with Casey Toohill. 🤷♂️ 1 Quote
