I don't think there is a case for it to be banned besides some people just not liking it, for some reason. It fits completely within the rules and the spirit of the game. Nobody has an issue with linemen pushing running backs forward when they get stopped.

Actually, I have an issue with lineman pushing or assisting RB.

This was illegal until a few years back.

Even though Dion Dawkins is pretty good at this, I like the old rule better.

As others have mentioned, if I wanted to watch a rugby scrum, I’d watch a rugby match.

Ok. I can see that you and others feel that way. I actually like it and I'm against over legislating the game. I don't want to put even more on the officials for them to potentially mess up.

We should be removing and simplifying the rules, not adding. That's my opinion.

Don't have to ban it but I'd make offenses declare that's the play, so the defense can design plays to stop it.

I don't think it's fair that the defense can't commit to stopping the play because it's got to try to stop multiple possible plays.

I'd also allow the defense to push players towards the pile.  (I'm not sure if the defense can do that or not.)

That's an to interesting idea actually.  Would be interesting to see it tested out in preseason games
