Any guess which NFL is calling for the tush push ban? My money is on KC...

No reason to ban it, but I am all for finding a new name and not allowing it to be called tush push.

Some team whose QB is too fragile to run it. So KC or Cincinnati, most likely.

Why would KC want it banned? They did an excellent job stopping it. It’s Green Bay.

I actually think it ought to be banned. It’s just not a skill play.

I like it. It's a massive mano a mano pile of humanity trying to simply overpower the other. I think it's pretty cool.

Considerably more skill needed than a kneel down at the end of a half or game. No one looking to ban that.

It's not that much higher of a conversation rate than a normal QB sneak or a RB dive on 3rd or 4th and short. Teams are slowly starting to figure it out now.

It makes me miss the old halfback dive plays though.  I get it that the defenders are a lot bigger and quicker than they were 35 years ago, but man I loved watching Robb Riddick and his 80 inch shoulder pads leap over the goal line in ‘88

agree 100!!

it is morphing football into rugby.  i recall the bills versus jets last year, bills had a massive push forward and jets could barely stop it, finally a jet jumped on top of the pile and he was flagged.

with josh we are u in really suited for it.  i think it was the chiefs playoff game on 4th down where a defender basically had him in a choke hold.

they need to reintroduce/enforce “no assisting the runner”.  want to see little guys thrown over the line of scrim(extreme yes but logical conclusion).

I don't think there is a case for it to be banned besides some people just not liking it, for some reason. It fits completely within the rules and the spirit of the game. Nobody has an issue with linemen pushing running backs forward when they get stopped.

I do think it is prone to a lot more dirty play, as @RoyBatty is alive said.

If I am playing the eagles, I am flying over the line early and just decking Jalen hurts. What’s the penalty? Moving the ball 2 inches forward.

I think it’s consequences like these that will get it banned.

Don't have to ban it but I'd make offenses declare that's the play, so the defense can design plays to stop it.

I don't think it's fair that the defense can't commit to stopping the play because it's got to try to stop multiple possible plays.

I'd also allow the defense to push players towards the pile.  (I'm not sure if the defense can do that or not.)

They don't even really need to ban it. Just start enforcing the rule on assisting a runner.

For most of the history of the game it was illegal to push a ball carrier like that. For some reason they stopped penalizing it unless a guy was pulling vs pushing.

Yes!

How about the bum scrum?

The rear stear?

The anal gainal?

The cheek squeak?

The hole in one?

The behind yard find?

The last gasp ass grasp?

The but'n up?

The hindquarter slaughter?

The rump thump?

More and more the past two years, I've seen ball carriers getting assists 10 yards downfield, when they're pretty much stopped and then some lineman comes barreling into the pile.  I don't like that.
