ngbills Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Any guess which NFL is calling for the tush push ban? My money is on KC... No reason to ban it, but I am all for finding a new name and not allowing it to be called tush push. 1 Quote

It’s Green Bay. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/report-packers-made-proposal-to-ban-tush-push Quote
BuffaloBillyG Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago (edited) I would have guessed Washington. Doesn't matter. They aren't likely to have the support to pass it. Edited 3 hours ago by BuffaloBillyG Quote
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I actually think it ought to be banned. It’s just not a skill play. 1 1 2 Quote
BillsDad51 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago (edited) According to PFT, Green Bay proposed the ban. Edit: missed earlier post. Edited 3 hours ago by BillsDad51 Missed earlier post Quote

Considerably more skill needed than a kneel down at the end of a half or game. No one looking to ban that. It's not that much higher of a conversation rate than a normal QB sneak or a RB dive on 3rd or 4th and short. Teams are slowly starting to figure it out now. 1 Quote
mushypeaches Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago It makes me miss the old halfback dive plays though. I get it that the defenders are a lot bigger and quicker than they were 35 years ago, but man I loved watching Robb Riddick and his 80 inch shoulder pads leap over the goal line in ‘88 1 1 1 Quote
strive_for_five_guy Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago After the KC game, we probably shouldn’t mind it being banned 😬 1 Quote
Beast Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I’m not a fan of the ball carrier being able to be assisted by a push or pull by another player but such is life. 2 Quote
HOUSE Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Since it works for the Bills the NFL must ban it You guys are so young.... Quote

I don't think there is a case for it to be banned besides some people just not liking it, for some reason. It fits completely within the rules and the spirit of the game. Nobody has an issue with linemen pushing running backs forward when they get stopped. 1 Quote

I do think it is prone to a lot more dirty play, as @RoyBatty is alive said. If I am playing the eagles, I am flying over the line early and just decking Jalen hurts. What’s the penalty? Moving the ball 2 inches forward. I think it’s consequences like these that will get it banned. Quote
dpberr Posted 59 minutes ago Posted 59 minutes ago Don't have to ban it but I'd make offenses declare that's the play, so the defense can design plays to stop it. I don't think it's fair that the defense can't commit to stopping the play because it's got to try to stop multiple possible plays. I'd also allow the defense to push players towards the pile. (I'm not sure if the defense can do that or not.) Quote

Just start enforcing the rule on assisting a runner. For most of the history of the game it was illegal to push a ball carrier like that. For some reason they stopped penalizing it unless a guy was pulling vs pushing. Quote
MPL Posted 53 minutes ago Posted 53 minutes ago I think we can all at least agree that Tush Push is better than Tush Bush. Quote

The behind yard find? The last gasp ass grasp? The but'n up? The hindquarter slaughter? The rump thump? Edited 38 minutes ago by Dibs 1 1 Quote
Utah John Posted 35 minutes ago Posted 35 minutes ago More and more the past two years, I've seen ball carriers getting assists 10 yards downfield, when they're pretty much stopped and then some lineman comes barreling into the pile. I don't like that. 1 Quote
