I didn't know any of that, but those are the vibes I got. Featherd blonde hair, from Utah, and outsized confidence in his abilities as a "leader" even though he ran away from Caleb Williams. I think he spends more time on teeth whitening than studying film.

I’m not going to try and tell anyone that he is a very polished receiver and the routes he ran were basic. But the Heupel offense has produced X-receivers that have had success in the NFL. Recently with Cedric Tillman and Gabe Davis - both who ran 4.54 40s. The more high profile disappointment has been Jalin Hyatt but he operated more off the line on stacked releases than Thornton or the others have.

 

One reason he may be a good fit for the Bills is he is a very productive low volume receiver - leading college football in ypc - and the Bills passing game has morphed into an offense where most passing targets are lower volume. 
 

Im not sure where Thornton will wind up going, I would be excited if we drafted him round 3 (with a trade up) or beyond. The good news is for a team in desperate need for WRs with both size and speed that can play on the boundary, there are a lot of players that fit that bill from round 2 and on this year. Hopefully we take advantage and draft a couple barring some impressive FA signing.

 

I just love the idea of Drafting that kid. I've had my eyes on him since Oregon mainly because of the size/speed thing... Just kind of watching his progression. Most of the prospects like that tend to flame out, get injured, etc... But he's made it this far and he's still almost 6-5 with 4.3 flat speed...

 

I feel like the Bills need that one-trick-pony big time and Thornton can give you that as a Rookie playing maybe 20-25% of the downs, and then you coach him up from there. He'll be cheap... He'll fill out the room... I would take him in the 3rd (in a trade up like you said or maybe if we trade down in the 1st to add a 3rd) and not even bat an eye... But I'm also insane so...

Respect your view, but any trade up for a guy with so little production with those athletic traits is a lot too rich for me.  I could consider him starting at the Bills’ late 4th.  Earlier than that seems like a hope and a prayer rather than a solid pick.  That’s just my opinion - I don’t know that I am right.

I hear ya... And I'm only talking about a trade up from the 4th to the 3rd when we already have two 4th Round Picks... So going from say 108 to 98 will probably cost one of our 5th's or something like that. I would prefer a trade down in the 1st like last year where it costs nothing, or to just take him at 108... But I'm a little nervous about that now that he posted the 4.30... I'm actually a little nervous about the 3rd Round tbh... I totally understand there is plenty of risk involved with him. But I think unlike a Gabe Davis-type, or worse a Justin Shorter-type prospect the upside is almost limitless.

another fairport alum here! I played another sport, and got in trouble and I remember they brought be to Santini for him to basically chew me out! Ha! I still remember it.

I think the 4th or 5th round is a strong possibility for drafting one due to uncertainty for sure. Plus it’s likely when you get down the board one will be BPA

I think Egbuka can play wide as a Z. I don't think he is a strict slot in the way Shakir is. I know he has played overwhelmingly in the slot for Ohio State, but there are plays wide where he looks good to me. It is a bit of a projection though, I grant you.

He wont be underrated on draft night IMHO and he is on my short list of WR's I want in the draft this year.  But I think he is going to go earlier than people are mocking today.  He is the kind of guy GM's don't want to see people talking about because they don't want his stock to improve.  If the Bills want him they will need to use one of their 2nds on him IMHO as I do not think he has much chance to get to us in the 4th.  And with his size and speed and after BTJ rookie season, it wouldn't surprise me if he was gone before our 2nd round pick from Vikings if buzz picks up leading into the draft.
