I’d be willing to move a few later picks to get him in the 100-115 range Don’t they already have a pick in that range? 108, I think 7th pick of 4th Edited Saturday at 09:53 PM by OldTimer1960 Quote

Lots of drops. Here is a pretty good review of his game. https://collegefootballnetwork.com/matthew-golden-scouting-report/#:~:text=Matthew Golden's combination of strength,in he 2025 NFL Draft.&text=Texas Longhorns star receiver Mathew,Day 2 prospect to watch. A later round sleeper - Tai Felton. Excellent speed and very productive at Maryland. We've had some success with a WR from Maryland. 4.38 speed. 6'1" NFL combine page projects as depth in the NFL, but I saw him multiple times against my Hoosiers and he is a very good WR who gets open. Stat line: 96 catches for 1124 yard and 9 TDs. Very underrated prospect IMHO. https://www.nfl.com/prospects/tai-felton/32004645-4c74-6837-2f7c-6dbeb6fa58ca Golden is like AD Mitchell last year. Good route runners who blow up the combine but it doesn’t match what you see on tape. AD Mitchell had no yac ability. Golden has more yac but for someone with 4.3 speed he got caught from behind an awful lot this year. He is better than Mitchell who was a mid- second rounder last year tho Felton is an interesting guy because he can make plays at all three levels but had a really high drop rate for someone who averaged less than 10 air yards per target. I like the bigger receivers this year, Harris, Horton and Higgins tho I’ve only seen Higgins gauntlet so far. Edited Saturday at 09:53 PM by LEBills Quote

That speed isn't a surprise to me in the way AD's was. Separately, Tez is the one that has hurt himself so far. 4.51? Eeeek. His size and that speed? Mid day 3. Quote

I think he is fast enough to be a good player but don’t see 4.3 speed. Yea Tez is day 3. Probably will go to Denver with his bro. 1 Quote

Whether he reaches 30, and they go for a WR instead of a defensive player there, is another matter. If he's there at pick 30 Beane and Veach could do the funniest thing ever. 1 7 Quote

jkeerie Posted Saturday at 10:13 PM Posted Saturday at 10:13 PM I love how Kurt Warner puts down the QBs with big arms...aka Josh Allen. "It's unnecessary". Jealous much? 1 2 3 Quote

Ah, such modest enticement is only effective if there is a big, slow slot receiver that can't separate at the collegiate level available to justify the transaction. Though possibly one might substitute an earnest, high floor DL with modest athletic attributes. 3 Quote

I honestly don’t think about the pick positions until the comp picks are assigned. 108 would be perfect. If we had to trade into the bottom of the third I’d be fine since we don’t have a 3rd this year. Quote

I'd think he goes around where the Steelers are picking. Quote

I'd think he goes around where the Steelers are picking. Don’t get me wrong, I think Golden is a first round player and would be happy with him at 30 which I agree is unlikely. The way he carried the Texas passing offense was awesome. I think he is fast (just not 4.29 fast), and that it shows up pretty well as he runs routes. However, when he has the ball in his hands, I think he is too easy to bring down. He only had 8 missed tackles forced on 58 catches this year and I think that may be part of the reason you don’t see him running away from defenders too often because when he gets interrupted he goes down. One of the plays that sticks with me is in the SEC Championship game, he creates nice separation, catches the pass the Starks misjudged. Golden starts running, Starks slips, catches his balance and runs Golden down. Starks ran a 4.5 40. Later in the same game he did break a tackle one on one with the corner and got run down again by the LB Mondon who just ran a 4.58. Even in one of his best catch and runs against AZ State, he got caught from behind though it was after 50 yards So in short, I think he is more of a Chris Olave or even Diggs than a Tyreek Hill. All good players. 1 Quote
