With two 2nd round picks, in looking at CB's with Round 2 grades. Heights, weights and 40 times subject to change via the Combine:

Trey Amos - Ole Miss

6-0

195lbs

4.42

Zy Alexander - LSU

6-1

192lbs

4.50

Azareye'h Thomas - Florida State

6-1

191lbs

4.50

Darien Porter - Iowa State

6-2

197lbs

4.38

Amos, Alexander, or Porter ......... yes please.  I'd also show some late round love for Walley or Hancock if they were available.

I also like Nohl Williams from Cal. 6'1", 200lbs, had 7 INT's. He should be there in the 131-181 range.

Stood out at the Shrine Bowl too. If they find a serviceable starter in FA which allows them to wait until round 4 on a corner he'd be very interesting IMO.

Hairston just helped himself.  Was hoping he’d be back one of our options in the 2nd.  Heard his onfield interview at the Senior Bowl and he seemed to have an infectious personality.

Porters 4.30 is way more impressive than Hairston cause of the size difference

It would suck to be the guy running 4.55 -4.6 because that is still plenty fast but you look so slow compared to your peer group

Cobee Bryant is a perfect fit for the Bills if they pass on CB at 30 to take at 56 and 62. Has some length at 6’0. Has experience with man and zone schemes and has plus athleticism. Doesn’t hurt he has excellent ball production either with 14 college interceptions. Not a plus tackler but willing to stick his nose in there. Thomas for sure won’t make it to 56 and I doubt Amos does either.

Great name too. RIP

I remember hearing about Bills Scouts down in SC to see Emmanwori this past season. I know this is no surprise to Beane. The SC training staff was saying he was running 4.35's in preparation for the combine. He's a crazy freak of an athlete. But he also played a lot of football in College and took a big step this past season.

I think in the running game he's a potential game changer. Big, fast, and explosive, Emmanwori could turn into a sideline to sideline TFL machine. He's the kind of player that can change your Defense vs the Screen Play if he develops well. Like change it forever... In the passing game it's interesting. I think he can cover most TE's one on one now. Zone is going to probably take more time in the NFL, but it's not like he was terrible. He'll do Rookie stuff in coverage I'm sure, but man what may be in years 2 and on...

It's going to be fascinating to see where he goes in this Draft. If he gets to 30 and the Bills take him, how can you blame them? You're swinging for the fences... But it would REALLY shake up the direction of this Bills D going forward. I would hope they know how to use him. Because I'm not even sure about how tbh... :D

would love Porter in the second.  Here is PFF writeup:

“Opposing quarterbacks avoided Porter in 2024, targeting him just 18 times across 202 coverage snaps. When tested, he allowed only five receptions while recording three interceptions and five forced incompletions.”

Measured 6' 3" with 33"+ arm length and ran 4.3 flat. Wozer.

This is who I want in the first round.  With the defensive line depth in this draft, getting someone like this would be great in McDs defense.  I like that he can lineup anywhere behind the line and could really excel here

How many years have we heard about wanting a "big nickel" Dugger/Chinn type? I'd assume they have ideas for that, but who knows.

Sure. Then please don't use a 1st rounder on another safety! Stick to day 3 for DBs, McD has a strong track record there

Both Taylor Rapp and Damar Hamlin have deficiencies as NFL safeties.  Even if Buffalo is convinced Cole Bishop is going to be a stud, there is room for an upgrade at the other safety spot.  In a perfect world, I'd like to see Buffalo draft a monster nose tackle at #31, but a great safety would not be the worst pick they could make.

My problem with him is the thing I have the question about is the thing he didn't prove. There is a stiffness to his game. He doesn't play with the fluidity I'd want in a high end safety. Doesn't flip his hips. The testing I'd have been interested in is the agility drills. I think there is a fair chance he is gone before we pick and if he isn't I'd be content to leave alone at 30.
