Which one?

  1. 1. Blockbuster trade or reserve draft capital in deep draft?

    • Trade!!!! Vet elite guy or bust! Immediate and automatic impact in a Super Bowl or bust season!
    • Wait for the draft... we could get more than 1 impact player on the DL in this draft.

Go with your gut on this one.

Genuinely curious because I just started with the draft class now that the season is done.

Holy cow! This might be the draft to need anyone on the DL!!!

On the other hand... for once it looks like we have CAP space and some Elite to generational talents might be available in a trade...

but that will cost draft capital in an incredibly deep DL class...

(In Dane Brugler's top 100 there are 17 edge rushers and 13 DTs)

but Brandon Beane fails consistently in drafting Elite players early...

but drafted players who hit are cost controlled and we can ensure more years of competitive rosters in Josh's prime...

How do you guys honestly feel about this?

I'm a little torn right now, but my gut says I'm going to be pretty disappointed if we don't get Garrett or Crosby this offseason.

Or bust? Haiiiil naw. It'll all depend on the guy and the price.

I'd love to get Garrett in particular. But only if it's good value.

And I'd disagree that Brandon fails to get elite players early, because he basically never drafts early. It's a lot harder to get elite guys where we usually draft. And costs too much to move up far (Massey-Thaler, for example).

Play it as it comes, and I'm hoping it comes so we can get Garrett.

I think this is the most logical answer.

We all like new shiny toys, especially those with flashy names.  But first of all...there's no guarantee ANY of these guys even get moved. The Browns have a hard line in the sand that they aren't trading Garrett. If you want him you'll have to blow their doors off with an offer. And even then they may hold tight.

I've seen nothing about Crosby actually being on the block...and he's actively stated he wants to stay with the Raiders. Most of the names floated are pure speculation. Happens every off season and a high percentage of the time one or maybe two big name guys are moves for picks.

If one of the vets can be had for a reasonable amount...great. If we have to look to the draft... great. Just find talented guys at a good value

We were 4th in sacks in 2023 when we had a capable rusher opposite Rousseau and a capable 1 tech.

Leonard Floyd brought more juice than anyone we’ve had opposite our top pass rusher probably since we’ve been contenders. So even if it’s someone at least equal to that we will be better.

At 1 tech Jones just might not have it anymore. Need to upgrade 1 tech aggressively. This is actually more important.

Obviously if you can get one of those elite guys go for it.
