Big Blitz Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Who are our versions of this guy? I love everything the Rams do. So I’ll call this at minimum a very intriguing hire. Quote
BisonBilly Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago (edited) He looks like an AI analytics type guy more than a football type. its hard to argue with the Rams draft and trade success tho Edited 6 hours ago by BisonBilly Quote
GunnerBill Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago The Jags are doing a Buffalo. They have hired a guy who is not a scout has never worked on the road because they want him to put a strategy and a plan in place and build a department and because he is tight with Liam Coen who was in LA for a bit. It is exactly what the Bills did hiring Beane after McDemott. Sean McDermott started as personal assistant to Andy Reid. It is a foot in the door job. This guy has spent 5 years as a Director of Scouting Strategy. It isn't like he jumped straight from Personal Assistant to the GM to his own GM gig. Quote
Cheektowaga Chad Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Very young for that job, probably a smart and good hire though Just at that young of an age in that position , it's not easy to succeed 1 Quote
colin Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago this guy is young, went to wesminster, has a super english last name in gladstone, was captain of the football team, and is leading the jags, and has salon quality hair. did khan hire him thinking he went to wesminster in the UK, played Futball, and is a clever lad steeped in the tradition of the beautiful game? 3 Quote

I don't know for certain but I suspect it means developing player specifications and profiles for guys that meet their requirements for the scouting staff to then apply. Quote

Seems like a job you give to someone's nephew. I would think a HC and GM would be specs/develop profiles for their needs that they then just impart to the scouts. This seems like a bizarre flex for the Jags to announce to their hapless fans. Quote

I suspect he is a very smart, slightly nerdy guy who McVay and Les Snead realised was bringing something different. Like the personnel version of Mike McDaniel. 1 Quote

I’m not much older than this guy, but I’ve already seen many thirty somethings get their first chance at management in my career. It seems the majority have much to learn about these positions, beyond the job itself. I’m always amazed how much leadership and interpersonal skills are better with more experienced workers. People in their thirties come across much younger than previous generations, and it can take time to mature into someone who can succeed in an important role. Edited 3 hours ago by SirAndrew Quote

You just like him because on paper he is as English as the day is long. my computer started playing "Swing low, sweet chariot" when I clicked on his profile. 1 Quote
