4 double digit sack seasons out of 9 total.

Played 107/148 games in 9 seasons….72%. He basically misses 1/4 of the season….no thanks

It's a risk reward thing. It's not going to be plan A.

He had 5 sacks in 14 games this season….he’s washed! The difference between him and Floyd is he’s not going to any team on a 1 year prove it deal….you’re gonna have to pay a premium on him for a 1-2 year deal. He’s not coming to Buffalo on a 1 year/$8-$10 million deal……more like a 2 year $30-$40 million deal which he isn’t worth right now!

If you think he's getting that much money I can certainly see why you wouldn't even consider it.  I'm no expert but I doubt he's getting that much or that long unless there's some sort of 1 year out where he can be cut without dead cap.  Either way I'm not in love with the guy.  I also knew there would be a debate over what you might get out of him and at what cost. It will be interesting to see how it plays out he'll probably end up with the 49's or Detroit anyway.

Well, free agency comes before the draft, so I guess that would mean waiting one more year. I’m good with waiting one more year and letting him be hurt somewhere else. At least with Von it was an unpredictable ACL injury. That can happen, and you can’t see it coming. When Bosa next gets hurt  there will be cries of I TOLD YOU SO coming from all directions!

There are better answers out there hopefully we go with one of them.  I'd love to not even think about it because we already added a pass rusher makes you believe things might be different this season.  If we march into the season with the same group it would be a little maddening.

He has more games missed than sacks over the last 3 years. I really hope we steer clear.

FWIW, If he's let go I think the Cowboys push hard for him. I remember the year he was drafted Jerry Jones LOVED the dude. The rumor I remember is that he was set to pick him and even tried moving up but the Rams and Eagles at 1&2 wouldn't budge (they both needed QBs and went Goff/Wentz) and Chargers took Bosa one slot ahead of Dallas at 3. Leaving the Cowboys to draft E. Elliot as a consolation at 4.

Man, everyone seemed to agree with you at the time, but suddenly everyone is all celebrating his signing. I don't get it... We KNOW he's going to be injured & miss several games, and it's doubtful he'll give us more than 6 sacks. If he was signed for like $6 million or something, I'd be fine with it.

Great question. My guess is $10Mish with incentives. He probably needs to sign a prove it deal for a year. I think Leonard Floydish is the answer.

Some guys wait to get a longer term deal and then settle on a short deal like Floyd did with the Bills. I think Bosa would be smart to take a short deal whenever (assuming he’s healthy). He’s better off betting on himself for a year at $10M than signing like a 3 year $33M deal with a little more guaranteed. If he’s healthy for a year he may make $25m+ a year from now.

Id consider him on a Floyd type deal 8 million for a 1 year prove it deal. I think this is what will happen but might be 12-15 .

Not sure if expensive yet. We shall see.

You guys knew what you were talking about :)

I wouldn't want Bosa at any price.  Rarely plays, football doesn't seem all that important to him and is a party guy.

probably wouldn't consider buffalo because of those reasons anyway.

Seems like everyone was seeing clearly just a few weeks ago... 😅

I'd rather spend that money on a extension for Rosseau at least he stays pretty healthy and you can count on him for multiple sacks each year .

How about both?

Guess the debate is over and the answer is yes.  Papers are signed so for now I'm going to be excited and hope for the best.

Contracts for FA from other teams can’t be signed until league year starts at 4pm today.

edit. I am wrong. He was released so he can sign.

He could always change his mind before he signs and pull a JD McKissic

Except he was released... He doesn't follow the other FAs where their terms expire.

Is Bosa really any better than what we’ve been getting from Miller? Bosa can’t stay healthy and no way would I want to over spend on Bosa. Instead how about we hit in the draft!

‘The Draft’ is never a good default. Way more sketchy than an injury-prone star.

You’re right … it’s 12.6 million 😂

I was a pass on Bosa originally but that was when I still had hope that MG would be in a Bills uniform for 2025.   A 1 year prove it deal for $12.6 to a guy who can be a game wrecker if he can stay healthy is a whole lot better than sinking $40 million a year plus draft picks for Hendrickson or Parsons ... if they even were attainable.  (Still not better than Myles even at $40 million, though).

Welcome to Buffalo, Joey B.
