RB's - Runners have to be patient, yet decisive. Where some could bounce runs outside a lot in college, the NFL athletes will shut that down in a lot of instances. We saw it first hand with Spiller. Vision is imperative in the NFL game for a RB.

I went to a Syracuse University game a few years ago.  I don't remember who the visiting team was, but their main RB would get the hand off, and then just stand there, until a hole would open up, before he'd start running.  And it worked every time.  Try doing that in the NFL.

That was probably Syracuse Wake Forest

The slow mesh option is actually the staple of Wake Forest system

The running backs almost walk in the backfield at points

You are talking about 21 year old kids here

Most can not change a tire

Between that and how they get spoiled because they are elite athletes at the college level and have been pampered when it comes to most things out side of football do we even have to wonder why the transition is so hard for some ?

When you come to the NFL it's time to grow up and become men but some can't grasp that fully !!

there are 10's of thousands of College players, there are 10's of hundreds of NFL caliber players.

Only the cream rises to the top and some players just can't make that next move against superior competition from the players that do make it that are also on NFL training programs
