If Josh did not want to extend his contract and potentially leave, would you blame him?

I wouldn't think poorly of Josh if he wanted to go elsewhere. I recently left a job because I wanted to live in a different part of the country. I would, however, be disappointed in his choice. A great player can join a championship team. An all-time great can make a champion. I consider Josh an all-time great.

What is with all these ridiculous posts about Allen leaving?  Just stop......

Not only has he laid it all on the line for this city, but he has embraced this city as his second home.  He has had nothing but glowing things to say about the organization and city.  And he is on the verge of signing another record breaking deal with this city that will most likely take him to the end of his career here.

So yeah.....get out of here with all this crap about him leaving.  He's not going anywhere.

We're talking about the guy who said he would retire from football tomorrow if it meant guaranteeing the city of Buffalo a Lombardi trophy, right?

The guy who said he wants it so, so badly for this city? The guy who said he has vividly imagined exactly the words he'd say while hoisting a Lombardi for the city of Buffalo?

The Josh Allen whose Hollywood fiance has spoken about her deep love for the city of Buffalo and its people?

We're talking about THAT Josh Allen?!

I just want to make sure, because I genuinely don't know where some of the "Josh is gonna leave Buffalo!" talk on these forums come from. Nothing he has ever said or done gives me that impression.

Anyway, I think he's gonna sign an extension this offseason that locks him up through his age 33 or 34 season, and all this talk will be moot.

This type of post is honestly complete crap

I can't believe anybody would even post this nonsense

Forgive the offseason post, but this thought crossed my mind last night, so flame appropriately.

It's hard for me to argue that Josh has been let down by the defense in key games, especially the playoffs.  You could also say that the Bills were outcoached in most of their playoff losses.  Add in being in the same conference as the Ravens, Bengals, Chiefs, and other improving AFC teams, it's not going to get any easier soon.

With being from the west coast and being engaged to a movie star, is it crazy to think it might make more sense for him to want to play out his contract and join a team like the Rams?  He would immediately become the NFL king of LA, have an offensive minded coach, and be closer to home.  I think his chances to get a ring would greatly improve, and he'd get to play in a dome where he excels.

To be clear, I don't want any of this to happen.  But if it did, I don't think I could really blame him.  Yes, the Bills took a chance on him, but he was still a top 10 pick and has paid the team and city back well beyond that.  I would hate it, but I would still support him.

To be honest I don't even know why you would post this virgil

Like you're too good of a poster to even be putting anything like this out there.. and it's not original because you're about the 80th person here to stay the same thing

And no it's not happening

First there's no guarantee he gets a Superbowl in San Francisco or Los Angeles.. second he literally has said since day one his goal is to retire a Buffalo Bill.. third 31 teams don't win a super bowl every year.. Philip Rivers stayed in San Diego for 15 years without winning.. John elway didn't win a super bowl till he was 37

Also you said he'd be the NFL King in LA lol dude Los Angeles doesn't even care about football.. he is actually the king of Buffalo.. he will never get treated in Los Angeles like he gets treated in Buffalo because they don't even care

I disagree. If for instance his wife is making his life miserable, this means more than playing football 3,000 milies from home (if there is an option). Should he put his foot down if she makes it an issue and demand a divorce?

And again,, we are talking about six years down the road.

No you misunderstand me. 6 or 7 years down the road if he wants to play near home I wouldn't call it a quitter. That's what I said.

I'd call it a quitter if in the next 2 years rather than extending his deal he threw his hands up and said "we can't get past KC I want out".

The truth is he has just as much chance to win here as he would anywhere else.

Pegula will spend $, McDermott at least has a stable program, and the team will always be able to attract top free agents and OC's.

Where else is he going to go that would improve his chances? wherever he goes that team becomes a contender because of him. But then there's everything else.

People mention the Rams. Every year it's "will McVay retire?" there. Does he want to go somewhere that the coach is like 25 years old but already wants to retire because he's already burned out?

This is so wrong. Never had a defense? Let down? They literally let Josh pick his WRs. They let him pick his OC.

Is this a Bills board or a Bengals board?

People have got to get over this. Josh Allen controls a lot. Especially on offense. He said all offseason how much he loved Mack Hollins. Before camps started he was raving about Mack Hollins. Guess what WR lead us in snaps? Mack Hollins.

Josh Allen has it great here. He had a great offensive line. He’s had one of the best defenses in the league. He has an owner that spends money.

If Josh wanted a new head coach McDermott would be gone.

name a defense that's ever played well and made a major stop in a playoff game during Josh's tenure outside of Johnson picking off Lamar Jackson. We have never had a pass rush throughout Josh's career.

I mean, we did make the final 4 in a year where some had us as a WC team, and some had us missing the playoffs altogether.

If Josh wanted to leave this kind of situation, it would be a bit Diggsy.

While I find it very comical how indignant fans get regarding this topic, it’s not really out of the realm of possibility.

Most elite franchise guys don’t move but some have. I think there’s very good odds Josh is the Bills QB until he retires, but I think Pats fans said the same about Brady for 20 years. And he’s the greatest ever and had done all there was to do.

Weird things happen.

If Josh decided to walk without winning one here, I would probably hate him for a long time unless we turned around and got a great replacement.

If Allen wins 6 Super Bowls for the Bills like Brady did for the Pats, then I would have no problem if he wanted to play on the WC with either the Rams or 49ers. But if joins the Pats, Jets, Dolphins then he is dead to me :)

I think he realizes being in LA or NY is not a panacea. In LA, you have no real home field advantage. NY the media is a constant drag on your team. He knows Mahomes has won three superbowls in a non-epicenter city that is a three hour flight from NY.

Would I blame him? It depends, is this hypothetically before or after the supposed 5 good seasons that he has left?

~~checks calendar, sees it's still February... :(~~

I mean we just watched them make big plays vs Baltimore again.

2023 they made some plays vs KC to give Josh a chance. Still 27 points was too much, KC wasn’t that good on offense.

Thats about it when we needed them.

Name a good pass and consistent pass rusher throughout his time here?

The Bills were arguably the worst team in football in the not too distant past lol

When was that?  The Bills have won at least 6 games for the last 14 seasons.  They may have had some very middling teams, but they were not the worst team in football at any point during that run.
