Faulty landing gear appears to be the primary factor that caused a Delta Air Lines regional jet to flip over on the runway at Toronto's Lester B. Pearson International Airport last month. According to a preliminary report released by the Transportation Safety Board of Canada on Thursday, the jet was performing a routine landing when its right main landing gear collapsed after making contact with the runway.

Not true.

It was not faulty landing gear.

It was caused by exactly what I suggested on Feb 20 in a page 2 post in this thread.

It was an out of tolerance side load on the right main gear.

She landed in an 1110' per minute descent, 7 degrees right wing down and 3 g's.

A fighter lands on a carrier at 700'/min and on both gear at the same time, not forcing just one to take the entire load.

An airliner lands at about 100'/minute normally, and on both gear.

She got a gust at about 300', pulled the power back from about 64% to 44%, and when the gust ended, she never put the power back in, resulting in a grossly increassed sink rate which she never corrected.
