I read some articles saying he's a trade candidate. Thoughts?

And what would you want for him?

Would be hard to see him go but it's all business in the end...

Huh?

He missed almost two years of Football. He came back and started to look more like himself. But didn't fully look like his old self. He'd have extremely little trade value.

Then there's the cap ramifications. Making his trade value even less. And the massive Dead Cap hit we'd take. It makes pretty much no sense, any way you slice it.

Like Tre after his first injury, Milano took time to get going. By the end of the year he was better but not back yet. I fully expect him to be back by the start of next year.

I also don’t think trading Milano gets us anything. This will be an interesting decision though. I don’t think they will move on this year. Likelihood with Bernard and Milano is Williams will play significant snaps.

He will be 31 next season with a $16M cap hit and a very, very low chance of making it through the season. We might get a 4th for him. At that price it's probably just better to keep him another year.

I think we let him play out his contract and resign him. He’s stout out there. Sometimes misses a tackle by the sidelines, but his instincts in the middle of the field and rushing the passer are too valuable.

It sucks bc Dorian plays super fast out there and is the sideline to sideline player we wanted Tremaine to be, and Bernard is solid at forcing turnovers and getting through piles at the LOS.

playing a 4-3 with Milano out there in the middle with those two by his sides would be sick, but taking off taron is tough. I think taron could play safety on early down to let this happen with Cole next to him. The run defense would be much better for it

I’m trading Milano before Cook I’ll tell you that right now.

If we are talking about these two, Cook is done here in my opinion.  The second you go public with contract demands and take it out of house that fast after one decent not spectacular year, you have made yourself bigger than the team.  However if he lead us to a super bowl win it might be different.  We don't need him here and now he has made himself a distraction.  Milano has been an all-pro and has not said anything (granted he is always injured).

Can't imagine he has trade value commensurate with his on-field impact (when healthy). Seems like a non-starter, ESPECIALLY GIVEN HIS $17.2M DEAD CAP HIT in 2025! https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/player/_/id/21905/matt-milano/contract/summary

Potential out AFTER 2025 still incurs $11M. Come on. There's a void year in 2027 reducing the Bills' flexibility this year.

To play devils advocate a bit, the Bills took a $31M dead cap hit to trade Diggs. And while it's true it was to get rid of an obvious headache of a player, it shows Beane doesn't view dead cap as a nonstarter issue.

I don't expect to see him traded nor do I think I would unless a team made a crazy generous offer for a guy that has been injured so often. I DO expect the Bills to approach him for a pay cut however.

Untradable, at least for anything of value.

But there are worse things in life than having Milano as a healthy starter for us next year, so I'm not crying in my beer.
